so true, back then skateboarding wasnt accepted as it is today, and we been those associal kids hanging on the street listening to dj premier and alchemist and been high. i remember this was one of the first techno tracks all of my mates accepted, and remember us getting nuts from those simple but crazy good tom toms. back then i had no idea the track was by legowelt and that legowelt still 20 years later still is the first name i tell, if someone asks me what techno/house i like...

The hi-hat and snare arrangement is very techno, and the melody is reminiscent of a lot of 80s electro tracks. There are elements of trance in there too. I don't think you actually know what you're talking about, do you?

almost the same gear that i used for my releases on International Dj Gigolo Records under the spell name Dj Valyom , Vdd Energise & Phil Moon back in the 90s ....the SH 2000 roland ( 1973 ) is a favorite of me ...i did the track top gun with this one and Sven Vath promoted the tune all the way :)

That might be right. I, use this term myself to qualify a sound that I can't really define precisely. Like this one for exemple. It has many influences in it so it's easier to qualify it with such a general term. You're sure not to be mistaken.

Is this the highest resolution version of the video in existence? I love the visual style but it's a shame about the quality. And the audio skipping of course, although that I can fix for myself. I remember hearing this by chance on some Cocoon compilation, and immediately getting sucked into the Legowelt universe. I know he sort of disowned this track later on but I'll always love it (like Whitney).

Ok no probs. I remember in the 90s electronic music was gaining popularity, and people were coming to terms with what it was. I remember people started to use the term 'electronica', but to me it always seemed like a cop out, as if people (mostly in music mags) just started using it as a trendy term to umbrella anything that was electronic. I also think I remember reading somewhere that it was a term coined by a journalist. I prefer the term 'electronic music' myself. Just my thoughts...

legowelt is a genius when it comes to music, i have met him many times already at parties and although he might be a bit odd at times his music is mindboggling. this video was made without his consent by goldcoast records who hold the rights.. danny was not pleased lol
