Friend, when I arrive in Leh, on first and second night (for two nights) I will have to stay in Leh hotel. Third and fourth day I will be out for Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake. I want to ask you, befor leaving for Nubra Valley, shall I check out my hotel in Leh? In that case, I will have to carry all my luggage to Turtuk and Pangong. After comming back from Pangong to Leh again I will have to book hotel before I catch my flight back to home. Will the same hotel give me booking for different dates.? Or will I have to book hotel in Leh continuously from my arrival till departure and also book hotels in Turtuk and Pangong.?

This totally depends on the season when you will be in Ladakh... If you plan during April to June then you will have to do advance booking as this is peak tourist season of Ladakh. If u plan between July to Oct then advance booking is not required

I went there in the month of July 2013. Long back but I clearly remember. I stayed in a hotel without kitchen or dining , so I went out to eat somewhere. I did not vacate the hotel because I did not carry all the luggage on my Ninja 250cc bike , And I deliberately made Leh as my Adda or camping point. So after two days of rest I went without luggage to Kardhung La ( from Leh)and came back by evening and I think this is better way of doing Leh tour as I realized some times you feel exhausted . Next day I went to Pangong Lake and came back to Leh by about 7 P.M. On third day I crossed Kardhung La again and I went to Nubra Valley where you have a desert in the middle of Himalayas all around and in this desert , You even have double humped camels where you can have a camel ride. You can have wonderful homestays in Nubra Valley. And from Leh , I returned towards Kargil and by late afternoon you will reach Kargil. The only challenging road is crossing Zozilla Pass where you should have some patience. Some car drivers or truck drivers due to lack of Oxygen as one reason they get highly irritated and drive in a reckless manner. In these last 10 years , I learnt that , the roads in Zozilla Pass became much better, wider and largely safe though you have to be extremely careful.

Get you car serviced.....Oil,filtre etc make sure that your tyres have at-least 50% life left or else get them replaced. Basic Ladakh circuit can be done in any car. Tata Punch should be good enough.

Are you planning to drive back to Srinagar or will or not? If not then six days should be enough to cover basic Ladakh circuit from Srinagar. Regarding cost please contact travel agents for exact figure but renting a bike generally costs around 2k per day excluding fuel.

In jan only few hotels which have an internal heating system operate in Leh as temperature dips below zero degree in this season. Road to Nubra and pangong is open but keeps getting closed in between due to snowfall. Also u wont be able to drive in this season without installing snow chains. Better to choose a different season to visit Leh.

Nice description. Please add Hanle and Tso moriri Lake and Aryan villages if possible. I am planning for 2nd week of May 2023 from Kolkata in self drive mode. Need another suggestion, do I need to pre-booked the hotels or simply can go and book because keeping the fixed dates looks difficult for me.

May month is generally crowded because of summer vacation. And Ladakh tourism has been booming post lockdown. If you are going with family it would be better to prebook if going solo u can take a chance.
