my 2009 has a habit of starting once in awhile just by turning the key to On, and not all the way over to start. It also sometimes makes a grind noise in park or neutral, but the sound goes away if in drive or reverse. Is that a switch issue or a starter issue, or the transmission?

Have a 2015 Santa Fe, no problems, go out this morning, no crank, was really cold. Have power at the fuse under dash. My relay looks slightly different than yours, not sure which legs to jump.

How do you see power present at the fuse ? I guess I must be new because I've never heard of that in mg life, to check if a fuse is good by "power being present at the fuse", I guess I'm just wondering what an example of that would be

My Santa fe 2011 just make sometimes one click or 2 then start fine, I told the mechanic maybe the starter so he charge me $450.00 to replace the starter(he say have to take all the motor off so he can change it) anyways at the end he say was not it..may needs a Electric check...I have no more money until next month(I'm retired)....can u give me an Idea please...thanks

So ours started after we used pliers to connect the two leads, and after that started up with the fuse in, for today anyway. It seems like it’s done this when it gets cold out, any idea what the issue is? Do we need a new fuse maybe?

Could be a broken cable. I'd jump the battery connector on the starter (+)

Probably your neutral safety switch then. My g/f's car has intermittent starting issues, but it doesn't start in neutral either, nor does swapping the starter relay.

@@joerevere937 We had the starter replaced. It was a bad connection / solenoid. I think starter was replaced at 120k miles. It has about 300k on it now.
