Lehigh Valley Zoo Full Tour - Schnecksville, Pennsylvania

The Lehigh Valley Zoo is a 29-acre (11.7 ha) zoo located in Schnecksville in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. It is located inside the 1,100-acre (445 ha) Trexler Nature Preserve. The zoo is open year round.
Lehigh Valley Zoo has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) since March 2006.
As a non-profit organization, Lehigh Valley Zoo is a relatively young organization, but as a treasured community landmark, our history spans over a century. Lehigh Valley Zoo, located in the heart of the Trexler Nature Preserve, is home to more than 325 animal ambassadors representing over 125 species.
The Zoo’s animal collection includes over 22 species collectively managed through the Species Survival Plan Program™(SSP), administered by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). As a means to share important conservation messaging with Zoo guests and contribute to field conservation, the Zoo contributes to, participates in, and initiates wildlife conservation programs at home and in the field.
The Zoo’s full-circle conservation projects spotlight: Spotted Turtle (local), Mexican Gray Wolf (national) and African Penguin (international). You can learn about the Zoo’s conservation efforts by visiting the Zoo’s Reptile & Amphibian Discover Center, watching a daily African Penguin feeding, and observing a Real Life wolf feed throughout the year. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), and an institutional member of American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK), the Zoo hosts year-round family-friendly events and activities, educational programs, and camps.

Fisher are really underrated animals, mustelids as a whole I feel don't get enough love in zoos (outside otters of course)

I actually did both LHV and Ross Park on the same day. That was a drive. I loved this place. The exit over the creek and through their bison field was also great. I’m not sure when I’ll be back in the area but I would love to visit again.

The tawny frog mouth is usually up in the corner where they put the plywood. It easily camouflages as a broken branch.

Awsome, my home town zoo. Steph said she saw you getting a hat she runs the gift shop They do the super bowl picks in the otter part the otters pick who is going to win. The skunk Oscar passed away after you did the video. We lost Lindbergh the owl and and White Lighting the alpaca as well. 😢 Old age. We are good in PA as far as the bird flu goes. All giraffe's do get darker as they age. I sent your video to some of the employees at the zoo. The raven lost their mate so they put him in with the Eagles, they are trying to get another raven.

@TomsRoadTrippin The zoo animals have been around from the start when it was the Trexler Game Preserve. The surrounding land is for outdoor activities. The owner wanted to sell the place it was a touch and go situation, If it would stay open, it was sold as a non-profit to Lehigh county who stepped in to save the zoo from going under, and preserve the surrounding land so it could not get developed. Then, the name was changed. It sits on county owned land now. The entire community has kept that zoo alive and thriving. We love our hometown zoo.
