I said the same thing. But it will be a lens. Leica glass is definitely pricey. Probably get the Noctilux or a 90-280 Emarit.

Any thoughts on the SL2 vs the X1D II / 907x in terms of usability/ergonomics and file quality? Thanks!
@LeighAndRaymond4 жыл бұрын
They are all incredible cameras. Ergonomics is definitely a personal preference - I enjoyed all of them. I would say that the dynamic range is greater on the X1D II and 907X, but the SL2 is a snappier camera, especially the autofocus.

@@LeighAndRaymond Thank you. New subscriber here. Love the channel. Also trying to decide between these two cameras, and what draws me more to the Hasselblad is the wider view, though that may be negligible. I already have a Leica M10 and some M lenses, and, there is even an updated SL2 on the near horizon. It's not that I have a ton of money, only that I save and sell old gear, you know. Anyway, love this space.

This video, your previous review of the pre-production SL2, and your review of the SL1 have proven to be very expensive for me as they convinced me to buy an SL2. I look forward to using it and I also credit this decision to getting me off my hump and selling a bunch of Nikon gear that I wasn't using enough (read not at all). While KEH would have been a good idea, my local camera dealer whom I have dealt with for about nine years, was able to offer me good trade-in prices and a slight deal on the SL2 (the word deal and the word Leica are two words that do not often go together).

@TheSnapChick I've really been considering this camera lately, too. I'm not a pro in the sense that I don't pay my bills with photography, but my Q2 makes me not even want to pick up my a7RIV most of the time. The results are just astounding, and so much easier to capture, too. Leica cameras are just a joy to use, and the image quality is even more astounding.

The colors from the SL are delectable!!! I tested at the leica store in NYC and pulled out my card right there after looking at the output!!! Those lenses are phenomenal. I know the M9 and M10 are much-much better but the M8 broke my heart and caused me to sell all me Leica gear. Now I'm a confirmed Fujifilm X100 user and have yet to reach the depths to which this wonderful Fuji is capable.

Love your videos. Congrats on your purchase of the Leica SL2 system. I totally agree with your comments. I have the Leica SL2 now after selling my Leica SL. Prior to that I was a Nikon user and stopped photography for years until I picked up the Leica cameras. To be honest if added the cost of all my Nikon gear I could have bought a Leica SL setup. With the L-mount alliance, we can buy Sigma/Panasonic lens (which are great too) for the lesser used focal lengths and save the money for more critical ones. TTartisan and 7artisans have fast and good looking lens that are worth a look if you're fine going manual and not critical for 100% best quality. I have two Leica SL lens but will probably go Sigma/TT artisan for the longer end that I rarely shoot at. Only real negative is lack of TTL strobes with high speed syn - I often have to shoot at harsh sunlight with lots of activity solo. And as I dont shoot sports or wildlife, the SL2 autofocus is sufficient for me

Why would you spend all of that money and build into a system that has a fixed screen? It's years behind its competitors, even before it came out. Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Fuji, and Sony and even more - almost all of their cameras have some kind of flip screen. I shoot 85% of my images now for street/travel and environmental portraits from the hip. A camera like the SL2 is a deal breaker for the likes of me. Having said that though - it's good we are all different. I'm glad you are feeling the love for Leica.

Richard it’s called different strokes for different folks. Why did you even watch Leigh’s video if your so disinterested. And trust me people who shoot Leica don’t really care what people say. When I wear my Patek, I certainly don’t wear it and say “Look at Me”. I buy and wear what I want.
