Fudge maaaan I love your channel and I really wish you the best in growing it! I wish I had your editing skills because you literally post everything I like to see and hear about Leica compared to other people on this platform.

Always killing it, glad to hear you're going to be putting out more videos soon! I agree with you on the ISO thing. On some occasions high ISO is fine, but usually much safer to shoot at 1600 and to just try to bring it back in post.

I sold all my Canon and Sony gear and picked up a Leica Q-P.... haven't gotten around to taking it out yet but will soon...but I agree 800iso is pretty much the highest I would go on handheld night photos.... Great video man.. keep them coming 👏🤙

I keep coming back to your vids every now and then when i wanna learn lol great leica content. I was wondering though how does the Leica Q1 hold up in cold/rainy/windy weather? I am planning on bringing it to Norway where it can get to - 10C and on a speed boat but I'm afraid of wind entering it and damaging the lenses, not to mention the moisture risk and the battery can also be damaged if kept cold. I would bring my camera bag and take it out only to take pictures but idk, you're the only one i see here that tested the Q1 in these conditions, hope you could shed some light!

I’ve brought it out in every blizzard since 2015 and it’s survived everything so far! B+W filter tightly on the front of the lens, then gaff tape multiple layers of it over the mic holes on top, speaker hole on the back and I also taped up all the ports on the side of the camera as well! Haven’t had any issues since setting all that stuff up!
@firsthandaccount Жыл бұрын
I’ve also shot with it in -20f and -30 f with no issues for hours out there in the snow. Battery life will be WAY less than normal but that’s to be expected with that cold of temps!
@ish77777 Жыл бұрын
@@firsthandaccountthank you for replying! I really was considering not bringing it with me due to the lack of weather sealing, I'm relieved to know I'm safe 😅 what low/mid end B+W filter would you recommend?

Hi Tyler, I am a UK viewer of this video, which is very helpful and informative. I have recently acquired the Leica Q, and as an 84 year old man, and not very technical. Have you made any videos about the camera for general purpose usage? Many thanks Terry Davis

Hey Terry! I actually offer 1 on 1 training as well via zoom if that is something you’re interest in! Reach out over email if that’s something you’d be interested in! firsthandaccount@icloud.com

@@firsthandaccount Hi Tyler, the camera belongs to my son, who is out of the UK for the next 3 weeks or so. He may want to take advantage of your suggestion as well. Is it a paid for course?

@terrydavis1488 sounds good no problem at all! I would recommend waiting until you can do it together! Yes it is paid and it is $50 an hour!

Thanks for the tips! The ISO one really helped me out! Would love some tips on settings for day stuff. I'm struggling a little bit with the auto settings. I've noticed that when I'm shooting indoors, even when on full auto mode the ISO is sometimes too low in the photos I take, and photos come out quite noisy.
@goldencloudds4 жыл бұрын
awesome video - very helpful. Couple of questions on your night photos: 1. do you use autofocus or manual focus? (and for AF settings do you choose single spot/field or multi field? 2. exposure metering - multi field or spot? (I'm using Q2 so excuse me if the terminology is different in the Q). Thanks :)

Is there any harm in keeping OIS on during the day so I dont have to be going back in the menu to change it every time? Very helpful video and thank you for the content.

Thanks for the review., I really was not pleased on those greens in high iso. I guess it's because it's an old sensor. But, as you said you don't need to go above 1600. With my canon no problem, up to 8000. Anyway, good to know : it's not my camera that is broken

I have! I haven’t gotten the sensor cleaned yet but I use tape on the top and the back of the camera to cover the microphones so I can decrease the chances of dust getting in there!

I thought the Leica Q has OIS (lens Stabilization) instead of IBIS (in body image stabilization- sensor shift). Am I wrong?

@paulboskerphotographyАй бұрын
No, OIS is not IBIS, its optical as stated, In the lens. Optically stabilized.
@sezoism4 жыл бұрын
why not just leave ios on at all times?
@firsthandaccount4 жыл бұрын
When using a tripod, the OIS can actually make all the photos blurry because it’s trying to compensate for the movement it thinks it is experiencing
