Leica Q (Typ 116) The Best Leica? - Leica Wedding Photographer

I've been shooting with the Leica Q for 4 years, I've shot over 100,000 actuations on this powerhouse and I use it week in week out as a full time photographer covering weddings and commercial assignments.

I took this camera to Seattle, Washington in 2015 along with my M3 film camera. The Q had some of my favorite results from any camera ever made and it is so much fun to use.

Nice to see a well used Q. I just purchased the Q2. How did the wearing down on the hood happen - scraping, bumping, or dinging? Great watch. I couldn’t get a good look. Is that the Submariner, or GMT? I have a Rolex and Leica channel. They just go well together.

often when I see cameras like that, I always ponder how there are so many bumps and dings but the lens elements and screen are always intact.

nice review, I was indeed looking for an approach from a non-street photographer - I mean, not primarily street. I'm looking for reviews to move from my Fuji to either the Q + M with 50mm or just the Q2 do you use the Q with flash on weddings? how it goes?

Good stuff, I shoot Leica Q-P/Q silver exclusively - my fave camera of all time for sure. Do you use protective filter on your Q? Or just the hood? Thanks, Mads

Hi Mads, sorry for the 5 month delay in replying. I just use the hood, it's secure, metal and quite big so always felt safe using it.

How is the Leica Q autofocus for dark dancefloor scenes? Do you use the Q here, or is this more of a SL situation?

They need to release an EVF Leica M body based on the design of the Q. I would be all over that.

No idea, it's a Leica camera not a Sony

My wife has an RX1, I have a Q and no the Q it's not an RX1. The Q much sharper and far better in low-light.
