I had been shooting 35mm for long time but for Q3 last year and I have to admit I am totally enjoying the 28mm (26mm) lens. Took it to many countries over the summer and loved it.

Love your videos and the super helpful camera comparisons-they’re always so interesting and on point. Wouldn’t it be cool to do a video comparing the Ricoh GR IIIx and the Leica Q3 43? Sure, there are big differences in aperture and low-light performance, but that’s exactly what makes the comparison exciting! Thanks for all the great content!

It seems to me that Leica paid attention to the response that Ricoh GR users had to the GRIIIX. The GR camera used a 28 mm equivalent lens, and Ricoh chose to offer a 40 mm equivalent version, which has had a very positive response. For me, a 43 mm lens means that the Q system, with a leaf shutter lens, is an ideal environmental portrait kit.

Great video . I have the 28 but I find I’m always internally cropping to 35 so should I just have the 43?

If you go to the 35mm I would not go for 43mm.

The best option is Nikon Zf,.. With smaller lenses you don't need the grip and you have great colour cience , MF and AF lenses, Black and white dedicated button, and so many other things... Oh! And Full frame... Did I mention Full frame?

Agree! I'm still searching for a good MF 28ish mm lens for my Zf to emulate the Q3. Hopefully Voigtlander will come out with one soon. I have the 35mm APO f2 and the 50mm f1 Nockton. Love em.

Seriously, so far i've seen nothing "impossible" from the Q3 43, it's 43mm Summicron F2 APO, what you can't do with any other, decent, fast prime lens for sure. No social insecurities. 😀
