She still has that excellent comedic timing. Well done, Ms Leigh.

A while back, I was watching the season 4 episode of "CHiPs" that she was in where she was a teller at the bank that kept messing up Ponch's bank account. Working in the tech support call center for a large bank, I had a laugh at all of the bank scenes in that episode thought she realistically portrayed some of the people I deal with each day. One thing that I couldn't figure out was why she looked so familiar. So, the other day, I looked her up on the IMDB and saw that there was one other on-camera scene that she did that I've seen, which explained why she looked so familiar. I've been a huge fan of the Halloween movies for years, and Halloween II is still my second favorite horror movie. There in her credits, I saw that she played the part of the mom of an injured kid at the hospital in the movie. With the scenes appearing at night, I never realized it was her until the other day.

The oblique references to the War on Drugs and HIV epidemic are good reminders of how strange a time the late 80s were.
@captainjimolchs5 ай бұрын
--Not so oblique. Cable is more free/less enslaved than broadcast. --Stranger than what? Korea, COVID, Hussein, Iran, Sudan, Polio, mad cow, 9/11, Gulf war, Somalia, Crimea, Gaza, Bosnia, Gulf of Tonkin, Mall/school shootings, immigrants. Same stuff, different decade. The Beat goes on. "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR 20th REUNION" aired on February 3, 1988, on CBS, in what was perhaps the most unexpected event, especially after CBS head, Robert Wood canceled "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR" in 1969 after the network objections and corporate censorship which had plagued the 1967-69 CBS variety hour and its controversial internal disputes that Tom and Dick Smothers had with the network. Hence, it was an unexpected event to see them back on CBS after this feud! The original variety hour was later replaced by "THE LESLIE UGGAMS SHOW" and "HEE HAW" (which CBS canceled in The Spring of 1971 during their "de-ruralization" process, but "HEE HAW" survived in first-run syndication from 1971 to 1992), so, with that said, the 1988 CBS reunion was a nostalgic journey back to 1968 when The Smothers had ruled the CBS airwaves despite the internal hassles that they had to endure with their TV network, while their NBC rival, "Rowan & Martin's "LAUGH-IN" had also flourished heavily in their success -and, in fact, both Dan Rowan and Dick Martin also appeared on "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR" as guests. But after the success of the February 1988 TV reunion special, CBS took another unique move when they decided to bring back "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR" as a 16 run episode series on March 30, 1988, which was quite an unusual move, especially after the turbulence that The Smothers went through with CBS in the late 1960s!
