These videos are helpful refresher training. When I bought my superjig 18, my computer had a dvd reader for viewing the supplied media. I have not used my dove tail jig in at least 5 years and my current laptop does not have a dvd player Thank you

So you don't need the leigh bushings? Finally!! seeing someone use different bushings is a big help, I have read plenty of forums where they were saying you don't, but its good seeing leighs stuff is insanely expensive. $40 a bushing.. that's nuts .

Bosch has an 8mm collet assembly available for the 1617 series routers. It grips the Leigh 8mm shank bits firmly and should be used instead of the reducer mentioned in this video.

Thank you, recently bought a older DR4 (not a pro model) from a decease club member's estate with no manual so it's been trial by error to figure it out. Not a fan of half blind but thru dovetails for drawer fronts so I can do applied fronts where all the grain matches.

With earlier D4s , you can’t do one pass blind dovetails. The newer models have a rod installed through the fingers that limits the router travel. There is a factory upgrade available.

I have the same router & hate it ! I’ve had every one of the problems you described. I’m close to trashing it !

Thank you! I wish I had seen this video before I struggled for hours with the exact same problems! Which collet adapter did not slip?

So, my pins are just ever so too tight when cutting half-blinds in the D4R pro. When I adjust the bit, can I use the same piece or do I need all new pieces? Additionally, am I just making the adjustment for the pins?

I am using a D4 jig from Leigh. When I cut the pins I am cutting into the fingers of the jig. I killed 2 of them but stopped when I saw alum shaving flying off. My material is 9/16, but the scale goes down to 1/4 ". It seems like the bit needs to be deeper but that makes the fit terribly loose. .any ideas?

Are you sure you are using the correct bit for the type of dovetails and the thickness of the board? I had the same issue before with aluminum shavings, and I found I didn’t have the proper bit. Just my thoughts since I had this happen to me when I first began using the jig.
