The amount of heart and determination he showed was incredible. He was willing to walk through fire to land his own punches. Wood knew Conlan had the superior boxing ability, so Wood made it a battle of attrition and will.

This right here is why I love the men and women who put it all on the line for us. They have a life outside the ring and family is the most important thing to us all. God Bless. Mike is a World Champion he showed his talent is undeniable and maybe if he wasn't such a fans fighter he would have stayed on his boxing and not allowed it to be such a war, Leigh Wood though it has to be said the heart and desire he showed to holding onto his belt was the definition of a fighter. At times he was fighting on pure instinct and real hurt but he never give in for a single second and his dedication to making Mike fight in a war was eventually what gassed Michael and even though his mind and heart wouldn't give up his body shut down on him in the 12th. Maximum respect and love to both camps that's why I love boxing and both men can be proud having both raised their profile and both boomed in value from 1 night of boxing gold. Loved it

These 2 lads are an inspiration to young up and coming boxers. The trash talk leading up to fights is a must, it sells tickets, it builds the hype for the fight, but once the last bell has gone and the fight is over, just look at the amount of love and respect these guys have for one another. It's a strange one because the consensus pre-fight was Conlan decision or a 10/11 round stoppage for Wood. I think without that 1st round Knockdown we might have seen the same outcome slightly sooner. Conlan fought as well as possible and was still beaten, Wood should have fought better probably and still won... Don't get me wrong I see your point and I picked Conlan to win, however, I think a rematch would be a toin coss again. Coming back from KO's like that is always a challenge in itself he will be a lot more cautious and gun shy moving forward.
