It is nice to see someone on KZbin being so real about it and saying how weird/gross aspects of social media can be. Breath of fresh air. I hope your dress is sorted in a way that you want. It will work out just the way it needs to in the end - whatever that may be.

You're right, it's a distorted view of reality. The problems occur when people take it as real life. I hope youtubers are investing the money they're making because it won't last forever. You seem like a sweet girl and I hope you're dress comes out perfect. If it doesn't, roll with it and enjoy your day anyway.

Just wanted to say you’re not wrong for feeling the way you do. It means you’re sane ! Social media is SO WEIRD. It’s an alien !!! I think you do an incredible job just being you and not giving into the crap. I don’t watch bunny’s videos because I can’t resonate with her .. she has always seemed fake to me.. and I do believe the money has gotten to her yet she tries to pretend to be humble. I dunno. Kathrine Kuykendall I totally agree with you. I watch the people I relate to, have interesting content, or seem like genuine and authentic humans. But I don’t understand the fan girling either, KZbinrs are regular people, with regular struggles and regular lives, they just happen to have thousands or even millions of people witnessing it. I get you though and it’s not odd at all.

When I had my wedding dress tailored, while she was pinning it; she pricked herself with a pin, then proceeded to put her bloody finger all over my dress. Then at a later date when I went into try again, it was still too big for me and she wouldn’t take it in anymore cause she said I was too chubby and it would make me look fat. Great times.....

One quote that I think hits the nail right on the head for "social media influencers" is "Don't let the hate get to your heart, and don't let the praise get to your head." Love that you touched on this topic. I find it interesting that as KZbinrs, yes, most definitely you might feel like you have to filter yourself or be cautious with the opinions you express buuuuut, I feel like it's the same sentiment with any "normal" office corporate job, you have to be very PC and definitely be extremely cautious of the diverse world we live in.

i was definitely upset but trying to be positive. i strongly doubt he was the one actually doing the alterations and i think it was done in a rush. theres more to the story that i didnt say but whatever. its pretty much too late to have to order a new one since it takes so long 😅

Like you said I can kind of understand a screw up in alterations as bad as that would be but to top it off they put a hole in it, in an area nobody should've even touched that's mind blowing to me! I live in Houston and recently got my wedding dress tailored! If they mess up a second time leave that place and go to Quick Fix Alterations! They are in the heights and do a phenomenal job and are so kind and patient!

Natalie Sulak I got rid of all of my social media except Snapchat! It’s been a few months and I feel pretty good about it. But maybe you could just limit yourself to checking it only once in the morning and once at night! There are many possibilities. I was ashamed of spending so many hours of my life looking at other people’s lives and decided I needed to make a change. I wanted to sit down and read a book or go outside and enjoy the weather

My friend bought a wedding dress, I think off the rack, that turned out to be a dress that was poorly altered and returned. She found a fantastic tailor that was able to not just fix it but make it look even more amazing, so there is hope. I don't know how you weren't flipping out more but I'm holding out hope that it will all be resolved in a way that makes you happy. ♡♡♡

I don't know why I didn't even think of this but my FIL got married last year and his wife had bought her dress after loosing a lot of weight and then the wedding got postponed and she had gained all of the weight back and couldn't get back to the size she was when she bought the dress. Long story short the woman she took it to was able to add to the dress and you couldn't even tell, it looked like it was part of the original design of the dress. I'm hoping to hear an update in a video soon and you got a dress miracle and it's all fixed 🙏🙌

I love you and Bunny and your friendship always made me so happy. Friendships change over time and it can be really frustrating and sad, but you roll with the punches and sometimes all you can do is be there for them when they need you. I was a little surprised to hear Bunny talk (in the videos with Shane) about how sad and stressed she's been. She's always struck me as very genuine and funny (like downright hilarious at times) so I never would've guessed she was struggling. But like you said, KZbin and social media makes it easy to hide anything that you want to. I'm glad you two had a chance to reconnect and talk about things. ♥️

I used to work at a large dry cleaners where a tailor used to also work. He was really great at hemming pants and altering sleeves, buttons etc. But he was very bad at altering very fitted blazers and complicated dresses. He lied and made excuses when he messed up. For wedding dresses or nice suits, always make sure you go to a specialist that focuses on that one thing. You also always need to use Yelp. Maybe the place you bought the dress has good recommendations as well. If you need to take it somewhere else, do it sooner rather than later. Idk when the date for your wedding is so idk how soon you would need it.

I feel like I have so much in common with you, my entire family lives in Texas, I have PCOS but don’t have all the symptoms, but obviously I don’t know you. So many times I’ve started to comment and read all of the people talking like they know you and gushing about every little thing and then I don’t comment because I feel like my input isn’t as I don’t think intimate is the right word... but ‘enough’ maybe. Maybe your negative outlook on social media at the moment is a sign that you should take a step back from it. You're right about how abnormal it is to share your life on the internet. Like, you want to share your true personality and life with people, but there's parts of everybody's lives that are difficult to share. I imagine that you feel like you can't/shouldn't share those vulnerable moments because you're pressured to have a "perfect" life on the internet. And also, there's just the simple fact that everyone needs privacy. Sometimes it seems like if a KZbinr goes through something that they don't share, it's automatically considered being dishonest. Idk, I feel like there's no straight forward answer. It's one of those things that you think about for hours on end and then just get tired of thinking about it 😂

LeighAnn - When I got my wedding dress done, they had actually forgotten about it for a month. So a few days before my wedding I asked them if it was close to done (aka hinting that I needed it) and they said they had no record of my order. SO, they had forgotten about it, tailored it in two days, and then my boobs went CRAZY at my wedding. But at least I wasn't naked! Hope your wedding dress turns out better! (Obviously that is not helpful at all, but know that it isn't anything to do with you or your specific tailor. I think its a demand-based thing).

Jennifer Hogan my boobs went crazy in my dress too! My one tip is make sure you sit down in it properly when trying it on in alterations... I didn’t untill we got in the car to leave for the ceremony and BAM out falls my gigantic boobs from the front of the dress. It was also too short. Ugh. But I did learn... no one else will see the flaws the way I did.

I had a wedding dress disaster only with the tailor and what she did and didn’t do, but said she would do. In the end we took it to another tailor. I do NOT recommend the tailors at the dress store, do your own research and choose an independent tailor. It was a hot mess.

I am curious to see Bunnys video. I actually found her through you many many years ago. I have always loved your dynamic, but like you said we see such a limited side to your friendship due to circumstances. However I always saw a warm light between the two of you and you both have perspectives on your situations that few others have. I totally understand where you're coming from on the topic of friendships, I've gone down that road before. Never with a large social media presence so I can only imagine how much harder that makes everything. All you can do is give those things time, especially after you've reached a limit.

I had a huge hole in my dress and I didn't see it until I was putting it on my wedding day. The tailor messed it up. I went alone to my final fitting and the tailor rushed the whole thing... Probably was afraid I would see the big hole. I made the mistake of storing mine at store since they offered it for free and I didn't want to chance my dress bgetting messed up. Boy was I wrong. Whatever you do try on the dress and inspect it before you leave with it.

I gave up social media years ago now, haven't looked back!! It was nothing but a negative pull on my life. The shock on people's faces when they ask me (I'm 23) for my FB and I say I haven't had one for 6 years 😂

Social media can be fun as something to check out and consume, but I don't have a problem turning it off when I need to. And, I'm dating myself here, but I also grew up without social media, so it has never been a norm for me to live in it. As much as I "love" some of the KZbinrs I watch (I've been subbed to you forever and a day,) I don't have this misguided idea that KZbinrs are my personal friends or that I somehow know them as well as someone I would know in real life. I think KZbin especially sits in this really murky place between an everyday person and a celebrity, so KZbinrs are held to this bizarre standard that no one really understands. I'm glad Bunny is finding herself. I had to stop watching her channel about 6 months ago because her energy was so off that it was anxiety inducing for me. I wish her nothing but the best, and will be following her journey forward. I'm sorry about what happened to your Wedding dress. I know you're a nice person and you don't want to make waves generally (See, there is me "knowing" you ;) ) but if this isn't fixed to your satisfaction, raise holy hell (in person, not via social media.) You don't mess with the dress!

Okay, I have a story to tell you about dress alterations, so here we go. For my brother's wedding my (future) sister-in-law asked me to be a bridesmaid, but she decided she wanted us to have custom dresses, right? She and my brother live in another state, so all her other bridesmaids went to the same place to get measured and whatnot for their dresses, but she decided to "do me a favor" and find a place closer to me that would make the dress. It was some tiny little privately owned shop, but the lady seemed nice and super professional, so we went with it. Got measured in January/February for the summer wedding. My sis-in-law wanted us to have our dresses ready about a month or so before so one less thing to worry about. It comes down to 2 weeks before the wedding, and we have heard nothing from this lady. We've called and called and she's not answering. Finally get ahold of her, and she tells us "she's been sick" (I'm thinking, FOR SIX MONTHS?!) but she is now working on my dress and it should be ready "soon". So about a week before the wedding, I come in to try it on, and it doesn't fit in the slightest. Like 3 sizes too small. She tells me I must have gotten fat since the last time. (TBH, I had gained some weight, but YOU STILL DON'T SAY IT LIKE THAT). She says she will fix it up and deliver it to me at my job since it's so last minute and not our fault. So I'm waiting after work for her to show up because I don't want any more excuses from her. BOY WAS I WRONG. I waited until almost 1 in the morning before I left (my shift ended at 10:30 for reference). Called her the next day, and she "fell asleep" which is why she didn't bring it or bother to get in touch with us. So it comes down to the DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING, and we have to pick up this dress that is hopefully good to go. IT'S STILL TOO SMALL. So she has the nerve to tell me I must be on my period because I look bloated. (Fun fact, no. I wasn't.) I told her I need the dress right now, so she's going to fix it. We sat in the store while she fixed it. It finally fit, PRAISE JESUS. THEN she hands us this ridiculous bill for all the extra alterations, DELIVERY CHARGES AND LATE PICKUP. Needless to say we did not pay that. Anywho, got my dress. It's fine. Going to the wedding for my big bro. Show up to the wedding and see the other girls' dresses. MINE IS THE WRONG COLOR. Like NOTICEABLY darker than the other girls' dresses. Fast forward a year or two, and that shop is no longer in business. (We didn't shut her down, she just closed up shop.) BUT, the main point of this disaster story is that even though my whole dress situation put a HUGE wrench in the wedding plans, my brother is still happily married to my sis-in-law after 6 years, they have a wonderful 2 year old daughter, and everything still turned out lovely. Everything is going to be lovely for you as well because YOU are lovely. Don't worry about it.
