I LOVE WATCHING YOU DRAW. I think the way you feel about watching yourself draw on camera is amplified x397198243 times for us, so this was an absolute JOY. The only thing I wished we had more of,,, was screen time for that *victory pose* + music!!! v cute!!!

This has been one of my favorite videos so far.. not just because of the art... but because it's this super honest vulnerability that I wish I saw in the art community more! It sucks that no one really talks about how hard it can be to actually make art as an artist for what ever reason that may be... watching you made me feel less insecure about how I call myself an artist.... but hardly have time to actually DO ART lol... so yah thanks

I can relate to the feeling of needing to finish a project. Don't know why, but when I started to plan time for art, muse came at different times too for shorter sessions 😄 so I would block out three hours in the evening (more than I need) so I don't have to pay attention to time, and than when I'm waiting for my daughter to be finished from swim lessons, i would have 45 min to sketch. Most of the time now I feel like creating... It's like it builds through the day and comes out at night. It's tricky for you cause you have a early muse... Maybe train your muse for eve sessions... It takes a min of 21 days to learn a new habit... Maybe it helps.. Love your art and admire your approach to a sketch. You block first and detail later... Mesmerizing 😍😍😍

Yes! I love that feeling of rewatching my own timelapses. In the moment I feel like I'm just guessing at what the right way to go about creating a piece is, but then watching the footage back I think "Whoa... I'm a genius! I knew exactly what I was doing the whole time!"

Leigh you did such a great job with your voice over. Fun fact, every time I see a punchy green, your name pops up in my head, because you using the colour quite frequently sticked with me. Super neat, that you're strengthening your creative muscle and sharing it with us.

It doesn't matter what medium you use, the result is always so unique and refreshing! I love everything you have created along this video! I hear you about watercolor. This was my medium before going full digital... and I miss it! I might get motivated to go back to traditional mediums (I waited to move, now I don't have an excuse anymore... despite maybe trying and so buying so gouache as I think about it for a long time x') ). Have a good day!

I’ve been plein air painting pretty consistently this summer but I decided I wanted to try to do it every day before I start school again (so I could finish up my sketchbook lol). I think since I started off by doing it about once a week, then slowly increased the number of paintings per week it, it made it really easy to do it every day. I definitely have to carve out time for it since each painting takes 1.5 to 3 hours (plus driving places to paint) but it’s been very enjoyable and I’ve improved a lot.

A hair dryer is your friend. I'm also terribly impatient when waiting for art supplies to dry. I started experimenting with a hair dryer to cut out that wait-time, and so far I've found no reason not to do that. Granted, I've never tried gouache. I'm in a watercolor phase at the moment and pretty much just paint for pleasure in my sketchbook.

I’ve been struggling with wanting to make art but also not feeling like I really have any time to do anything - even in my sketchbook… It’s so hard when art is your main business and there’s all the other admin/marketing/production stuff to take care of that the thing your supposed to be doing and enjoy the most gets shoved aside! And I’m so tired at the end of the day that when I carve out a chunk of time to create something, I’m all out of energy… so all of this is to say, that I feel your struggles. I wish I had a tip or easy solution but I don’t. Just- your not alone!! 💜

Good luck girl, you got this!! 💪💪 I love the art you made this week, and I'm rooting for you to be able to get art back into your routine! I have similar struggles. There's so much I have to do and not much time to do it. Whenever I make time for art, it feels amazing!!! 😆😆😆 But getting myself to carve out that time is rough. 😟 One thing I've found that helps me a lot is working in a small A6 sketchbook. The small format forces me to simplify; plus it's easy to throw in purse and pull it out on my lunchbreak. This year I'm also starting a birthday challenge: 300 sketchbook pages before I turn 30. We'll see how it goes! ☺👍👍
