I always preferred Leighton. She has this sweetness about her that you want to protect her. Her backstory makes her a warrior. The fact that her own mother was stealing from her and also spending the funds that she was transferring to her brother’s account for his medical bills is so heartbreaking. so i recently saw her in a trailer for a movie she's in (sadly don't remember the movie name), and i was just AMAZED with how absolutely beautiful she is; it struck me that i was in slight awe over the fact she had some wrinkles on her face and how 1) stunning she was with them and 2) how brave i felt she was for displaying that. my reaction is truly a testimony to how f:ed up the beauty standards are for women, because i really thought about how unusual it is to see, i was kind of like "oh that actress has aged in a way that seems kind of natural!! what a frekking relief to behold". IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL, SHE IS SO STUNNING. it is beyond sad that i really thought about the fact that it felt super unusual to see an actress/celebrity having visible wrinkles, yet it was equally as important to me to get to see; because the horrid beauty standards *are* a (sad) fact, that we face every day as women in general. to get to see that IT'S OK TO AGE AND TO LOOK DIFFERENT COMPARED TO 15 YEARS AGO (even in hollywood where the beauty standards for women are off the charts) was BEAUTIFUL. also her saying that she has a lot of strech marks, in the beginning of this video, is GREAT. i think we all need reminders about the fact that we need to keep trying to normalize that having a natural body (a body that for many women changes (in various ways) over time) is OK, and that we are valid and enough despite how we look - and that we don't need to alter our aperance with treatments and procedures in order to be worthy!!
