This app saved me from my overarching urge to make complex workflows and always end up switching to something else. It's just ENOUGH! Every list and tasks in one place and no upper limit to the number of lists you can have. It's literally so simple! For a student, tasks are most of the times very straightforward and i know what to do, just spending the minimum amount of time to plan it in MS Tasks saved me!

Making notes can get very messy for me and on occasion redundant, BUT, I totally agree that sometimes turning away from the computer to the old-school analog, do it by hand version can calm my mind and actually focus on the list itself without being distracted by all the apps, emails, screen-elements. It really feels good to cross an item off the list :D

If you use the other version of OneNote that comes with Office 365 (vs. Windows), there's actually an integration with Outlook from there, which then integrates with To Do. I find this handy for taking notes in meetings, and making my to dos right there when taking the note, and then it does fully integrate with Outlook & To Do.

For ~5 years I've been that guy who used Trello for his personal to-do list, though it was obviously designed for corporate implementations. MS To Do is MILES more convenient in that regard, I am in love with it now. The only major feature missing is perhaps the calendar view, but that's actually kinda fine: in Trello, I used to stare at calendar view, carefully planning everything for next weeks, then to obviously not follow the grand plan. So lack of calendar view (while sometimes a problem) ended up creating a healthier relationship with tasks for me, as the layout naturally suggests that they come in order and don't overwhelm you.

@ceciliala2 жыл бұрын
@@philluken5640 yes indeed, you’re right. However, this only works in the Outlook desktop app. In the online version you can only see the side bar. And if you drag a task into the calendar, a new calendar event is created, so if the To Do task is rescheduled, the changes are not reflected in the calendar event. I just think the integration could be much better. I would have loved a calendar view inside To Do where calendar events could be visible and tasks could be scheduled too.

A flagged sentence = a task = shows up in both Outlook task list and Microsoft To Do. I usually also combine the Outlook integration with notetaking in the context of specific meetings. Inserting meeting details directly in OneNote is really awesome. Thanks for your fantastic well produces videos! /peter

Here's a rewritten version of the text, improving clarity and grammar: Thank you for your excellent video. I'm experiencing an issue with my To-Do list management. I have numerous tasks that require daily review and status updates. When I update tasks 1, 2, 3, and so on, I often need to step away for other work. Upon returning, I struggle to distinguish between the tasks I've already reviewed and those I haven't. Currently, I use the star feature or manually move reviewed tasks to the top of the list to keep track of which ones I've addressed. However, I'm wondering if you could suggest a more efficient method. Perhaps there's a way to color-code tasks or use another visual indicator to show which tasks have been reviewed and which are still pending?

Thank you for this video. I have been using it at work with the Android App but wasn't sure how to put it all together. From this video, I appreciate that To Do is a separate app, so it can keep you from getting distracted by your email. I also like the distinction about dragging emails to your tasks versus flagging them. I get automated emails about training I have to do which I normally flag. However, I cannot delete the email until it is done. Based on your tips, I can drag it to my tasks and then still delete the email. I used to use Onenote for my task list, but it was just too slow to move email (where most of my tasks come from) to Onenote. I still use it though come when I have several emails I need to refer to for a task. I think what I like to understand, or perhaps experiment with myself, are the lists. I have a lot to try out come up before I get into the next video.

Thanks to this video, I've been using Microsoft To-Do for 6 months now successfully at work. I use any.do for home and there is something I like better about any.do that I wish To-Do had: ability to open deleted E-mails from the To-Do. When you ask To-Do to open an E-mail, it opens it up in web outlook (not desktop Outlook which I wish) only if it is not deleted. Some of my tasks are from automated E-mails (e.g. a link to training that is due). I have no desire to save these E-mails, but I need the hyperlink. In any.do, I would add it to my tasks, which would create the google mail link, and delete the E-mail. When I pull it up in any.do, and click the google mail link, it would still pull up the E-mail (if within 30 days) and I can follow the link. With To-Do though, I have to save that E-mail. The only alternative is if I'm at my desktop (but not mobile), drag the E-mail to a task, but I can't do that on mobile. So I'm spending extra steps with the E-mail.
