"My name's Larry, Larry Laffer." 😹👍🕹️ "Ken sent me." 😹👍🕹️ I remember, when i played the original LEISURE SUIT LARRY 1 on my Amiga 500 for the first time as a little boy back in the late 1980's, i couldn't understand, how to play this game completely 😹. Even also, when i could have needed a finnish 🇫🇮 / english 🇬🇧 dictionary 😹👍. I even laughed, when Larry was buying a rubber from a grocery store, and this salesman yelled to everybody about this stuff 😹. And that doll at the penthouse... OH MY MEOWING GOD 😹😹😹😹😹👍!!!!! The LEISURE SUIT LARRY games on the Amiga, Atari ST and PC are absolutely the legendary classic games 😺👍🕹️. A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮. Thank you 😸😺👍🕹️.

I originally played this one when I was 12 years old and didn't understand most of the jokes at the time. 😁 Thanks for watching!

This was not only the first Sierra On-Line game I ever played but the first adventure game of any kind I ever played circa 1988. I remember being blown away by how you could "talk" to the game by telling it what to do.

My first adventure game was King's Quest II in 1986, and it blew my mind. It was the closest thing I could imagine at the time to an "open world" experience after growing up with a Atari 2600 games. Thanks for watching!

@@decafjedi I literally just finished playing King's Quest II TODAY! Lol.

Due to temporalcultural drift, the same questions that would have stumped me as a kid also currently stumped me as an adult.

Nobody can harness the power of trial and error more effectively than a kid with too much time on his hands. 😁

In the disco part, where he is dancing with the lady, did anyone else pick up on the nod to "Airplane!" when he throws her up in the air and dances the cossack (if that's what it's called) dance?

Oh wow, I had to go back and watch it, but it's absolutely referencing that scene.

I only remember playing this with the pc beeping sounds. How did you get that stereo music? Or was this an enhancement for the emulator? :-)
@wlsmojo7 ай бұрын
Ah. You mentioned it later :-) I still prefer the beeps. Good memories

Thanks for watching! I originally played on a Tandy computer, which fell somewhere between the PC speaker beeping and the emulated MIDI sound in this video. That's the version that still plays in my head when I think about Sierra games. 😁

I bought the 3.5 disc of this, but curious what's needed to play it on windows 10?
@decafjedi2 күн бұрын
Probably the easiest way to play it today is to buy it from Steam or GOG. It runs great in ScummVM an emulator that makes running these older adventures pretty painless.

Love this game, my first Sierra adventure. It seemed so open world because of the taxi. wish someone could do a long play in amber Hercules
@decafjedi7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I was just playing around with ScummVM, and it looks like it does a pretty decent job of emulating amber Hercules. Maybe I'll have to take it for a spin sometime!

@@decafjedi I know it is possible but haven't had the time to look into it myself. Stair quest is awesome too , so glad it exists

This is the Summer of AGI? That's kind of wild. I just played _Space Quest, Chapter I._ Also, I have no idea what the MT-32 emulation for older games is about. I guess it just uses MIDI instrument 000.

That's awesome. Space Quest was the second Sierra/AGI game I played as a kid, a few months after King's Quest II. Thanks for watching!

Fun fact: "meester" is Dutch for master, so when playing this as a kid and interacting with the unfortunately written store clerk, I thought that's what they're going for.

I'm not even sure I knew what a condom was at that age, so that scene had me VERY confused.

$10 to $250 isn't all time level gambling, I've personally turned $20 into enough to payoff a bail bondsman at the blackjack table...
