Lekkie Pacemaker Throttle Overview: Is it worth the high price tag?

I use a thumb throttle and it's passable as I'm used to it. The only reason I won't use a grip throttle because I used to accidentally grab it without thinking when moving the bike around etc and it would jump forward at great speed.

Just get the wuxing 300X for about $10. I use it with the CYC kit and it works really well.

If anyone knew how often I am swapping junk throttles from EVERYBODY, they wouldn't wait to go to the Lekkie. I hate throttles for a huge number of reasons, but this eliminates at least three of them. I wonder how many controllers might be saved if it weren't for the on/off, wide open nature of junk factory throttles? I would think the soft grips would make it a lot less responsive. I also wonder if they will offer a half twist and thumb version...sorry if I missed it on the video, been working in 95f heat and no a/c all week.

Honetly I think this would be good throttle for bbshd but not 02 or 01. bbs02 or 01 is better off with on/off throttle and just change gear to adjust the speed

is that the Specialized Roll Elite bike ? didn;t know Lekki was in NZ , for some reason thought they were Scandannavian .

I think it’s the roll sport, base model. I upgraded the brakes though to hydraulic

the thumb throttles are just as progressive. The issue is poor throttle mapping by the controller. I used the cheapest possible thumb throttles with a VESC (where you can fully customize throttle response) and they work butter smooth. just a hall sensor in the end. Also, a twist throttle on an ebike seems pretty uncontrollable in an offroad situation

total noob (had never heard of Vedder's before, thanks!) what motor and what Vedder have you used together? Another rabbit hole to go down before I make my first ebike, I love it!

@@jamesburgess9101 i have used it on 3 different motors, a bafang 250W hub motor, a MY1020 for an electric converted tiller (instead of 2 stroke engine) and temporarily on my toseven DM01 because I fried the original controller with reverse polarity 🙈 got a replacement eventually

@@jamesburgess9101 I would not use it for an ebike, because it lacks all the sensor inputs (torque, PAS, speed), so you can only use it with a throttle. If that is all you need, go for it. otherwise stick to the corresponding motor controllers

Will it work in both left and right side configuration? Or does the direction for throttle change?

I ordered one of these based on this video, and I have to say, it really feels cheap and low quality. It isn’t even using a bearing for the twist throttle, it’s just plastic rubbing on plastic. Not smooth at all. I have to say it’s a wasted purchase as I’m not going to use it on my ebike. It’s junk, IMO. I had high hopes.

Since I hardly ever use a throttle I would not consider purchasing this. I’m a pedal guy. In Europe I don’t think they have throttles, at least not the bikes I have used in Europe.

I think that in EU , for ebikes to not need, drivers license, helmet, license plate, insurance, etc, they only allow pedal assist and max 250w and 25kmh, same for the city scooters.
