Good Lord give me the strength to hold on for a year. I want to never look at another boxed perm for the remainder of my life. I love how you went month by month because I was wondering how it’s going to look and what to do with it. I have been relaxer free for almost two months.... and I love feeling my coils and I never want them to go away. Going natural is one thing but to FEEL natural is liberating

@Teka125310 жыл бұрын
Be encouraged!!! My last perm was a couple months before yours, 8/31/13. I chopped off my relaxed ends at eight months. I keep it in a ponytail and wear a fake ponytail over that. I want it to grow out more so that it hangs better before loosing the fake pony. My hair doesn't puff to make an afro so I'm waiting for some hang time.

I've been watching a lot of these videos recently. Your hair is lovely! I think no matter what kind of hair you have, it's important to learn ways to style and take care of the natural state. I'm white, but dealt with frizz a lot since puberty. I always washed, blow dried and straightened my hair everyday. I started to embrace my hair and not apply heat that lead to breakage and the cycle of continuing to flat iron. I don't shower everyday either. Your body produces certain oils for a reason. 9 months after ending this process, I actually have less frizz than ever. Heat or chemicals should be reserved for special occasions. We are born with the hair we should have, so let's embrace our natural beauty and learn what works for our own particular type.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! AND THANK YOU again. This is the kind of video that I been looking for. I have been struggling on the decision to transition to natural due to my curl pattern and the current length of my hair. This is a great start and inspiration to me. Thanks again!

I am transitioning to natural because the nape of my hair just would not grow. My hair is longer in the front and short in the back. My back I think is fully natural since I haven't had a perm for almost three months now. Styling is still very much a struggle for me so I do alot of up-do buns because the twists will only last me maybe a good 2 days before I need to do something else to it. But I must say that your journey is really given me hope. I let the Africans do my box braids which becomes very expensive but I think I will have to utilize the box braids style until I get a little more length so that I can fully enjoy the twist/roller set styles because like I said after two days my back part looks like a matted mess. I Will Stick To It Though After Seeing Your Video!!! It will be worth it because my back hair is already much thicker just after a couple months of no perm!!!
@creciasglam9 жыл бұрын
OMG....your videos have inspired me! I am currently growing my hair out...I am so scared but anxious and excited with what the results will be. I am black and so i have a tight curl and my hair tends to be dry a lot.... I am in the gym a lot and am sweating all the time in my relaxed hair so I said you know what it's time to just go natural...not to mention I am having breakage in the back like you and got my hair cut into a BOB as well...its grown back a lot all over but then the back broke off again...I think from lack of moisture and my very tight kinky texture...so I have decided to bite the bullet and do protective styles and hopefully my hair will be as gorgeous as yours...I am also going to start taking the hairfinity pills as well to boost my length, because it's definitely THICK! But again, so inspired to follow the same things as you did to transition from relaxed to natural hair...by the way can you post an update on your hair ? I am intrigued to know what it looks like now. xo thanks :)

I love your hair! I was just wondering, What products do you use? I'm a beginner, and I've always used olive old products and I'm not sure What to use now.
@LeLe4li9 жыл бұрын
Stembie Dube Thank you! When I started off, I used Cantu Shea butter leave in, Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner, Eden deep conditioner, and raw Shea butter. And some products of carols daughter, well a lot of products lol. But now I just use Trader joes tea tree tingle conditioner and herbal essence totally twisted conditioner, aloe Vera juice as a leave in, and I still use Eden deep conditioner and raw Shea butter. But make sure you use natural oils like extra virgin olive oil and extra virgin organic coconut oil, they can easily be found at a local grocery store or online. But just try to avoid conditioners with a bunch of alcohol in it and avoid shampoos with sulfates, because they'll both just dry your hair out. I hope this helps!!

You are so pretty! And I think that my hair may be the same type as yours. Anyway I am newly transitioning, my last perm was February of 2015. Since then I've mostly been trying to figure out what in the world is going on with my hair, how to obtain length, and healthiness. Lately I've been wearing French braids. The last two months have been just like the double braid, simple and I like it. Anyway lol I was wondering the products that you used in your hair for I would like to try them and see what happens! Thanks a bunch if you kan help me 😁😁

Kai Lex I use extra virgin coconut oil and trader joes tea tree tingle for co-washing. I clarify with apple cider vinegar once a month and follow up with my mixture of mayo or avocado, eggs, sometimes some Eden body works deep conditioner, extra Virginia coconut oil, honey, and use that as a deep conditioner. I leave that in my hair for an hour, then I use Aubrey organics shampoo (which I'm starting to like, but a little of it goes a long way) and before I rinse out the shampoo, I put some herbal essence totally twisted conditioner on that section, rinse, and then reapply that same conditioner. As a leave in I spray aloe Vera juice and seal it with my oil mix, sometimes I rinse the oil out, sometimes I don't, depends if I'm styling with my Shea butter mix right after. And for daily moisture I mix up my Shea butter mix with a lot of coconut oil and it'll turn into this really creamy mixture that I can apply everyday with out it disturbing my style because it's easier to rub onto my hair. I hope this helps!!
@Kai-fl7jp9 жыл бұрын
