Pammy and Jenny are back at Talland with new sponsors LeMieux and a new group of All Stars. As always, the lucky eight will be coached by top equestrian stars but this year, there’s extra jeopardy, because riders will be eliminated with only four left to battle it out in the finale.

I thought the stable tour bit was a little unfair. Judging the size of haynets and poos while the horses were still in. Some horses are just messy in the stable and it can't be helped. Also if you don't want people to put stuff in the floor, give them a tack trunk or something. Not really fair to give people no storage and then complain because stuff isn't squared away.

One of mine gets a massive haynet, especially if we're somewhere new, because he's a worrier and I don't want him stressing on an empty stomach. He won't eat hard feed while we're away so I have to cram hay into him.

completely agree. I feel like the clipboard power has gone to the older ladies head. Horses also have more manure in unfamiliar areas because they are stressed, so that wasn't fair at all.

Yep, give people a bunch of new stuff they have nowhere to put and undoubtedly doesnt fit in their tack lockers/boxes because those were already full, then penalise them for having stuff on the floor!

I was very excited to see this series. LOVE LeMieux Products and adore Carl Hester! What a thrill to have him judge the dressage and all his so very clear and helpful comments! Would have loved to see the rest of this series, but totally put off by the elimination factor. All these contestants should have the opportunity to learn and grow. Stable inspection was horrible! Insisting on a rug/blanket for a horse that hates them? Not a good judgement, at all. So proud of the rider standing up for her horse's preferences. Spot check on poo when the horses are eating? OMG. I have had so many horses, and some of them are just naturally clean or naturally messy, and everything in between. Unless the person just cleaned the stall and the horse is out of the stall, there is no way to fairly judge this. Check the stalls after the horses are out and riding! No piercings? OMG must be a UK thing, because in the USA just can't be big and distracting from the performance. In the stables, cleaning...shouldn't be an issue at all and should have been stated prior to arrival under written rules. Why embarrass the rider for a piercing? Last but not least, I love that the riders and horses come in all different shapes and sizes. Was definitely looking forward to seeing ALL of them evolve and compete for ALL the challenges. That would have been an awesome learning experience for not only the contestants, but also all the viewers. So, not worth paying for if I can't watch everyone compete. Thank you to the person that gave the spoiler about Blondie's elimination. I would much rather have the opinion of Carl Hester, that they were one of his favorites, than whatever happened later in an episode I will not pay for.

Sorry but the stable inspection for me is not needed. Comments of horse needing a rug....the owner knows best Pammy! Not sure I would appreciate her telling me to put a rug on! Not liking the culling this year neither, if eliminated it does nothing for confidence. What a shame its all been changed.

The titles between the series differ slightly due to the show sponsors. The first series was called Blue Chip All Star Academy, then we had Omega Equine All Star Academy, before the most recent LeMieux All Star Academy 😀

This is the first time I’ve watched All Star Academy. I really enjoyed watching the dressage tests but the stable spot check really put me off. It was a bit tyrant-like and picky and I felt bad for the contestants, completely takes the fun & excitement out of it! Also perhaps tell Tommy he can’t wear jewellery from the moment he steps onto the grounds? Don’t use it against him if he wasn’t aware! The older lady is loving the power of the clip board.😅 Hoping it gets a bit more light hearted

I think I just got second hand embarrassment. 😆

The stable checks were far too pedantic…the older lady is the kind of person who puts you off going to the sable because you are scared of doing anything “wrong”. And by wrong I mean not done the way she wants…

I would trust the owner of a horse to know whether he needs rugged over the person who only just met the horse, even if she is Pammy Hutton.

Yep! Some horse also just hate rugs and you have to work around that. I'd very much doubt the horse was really cold in the summer/autumn in the UK, especially inside a barn.

Interesting approach - bit unfair to penalise someone for being in their stable on an unannounced spot check, assuming they've come in to tidy just because of the spot check and not because they were coming in to do their horse anyway. As for IT, Pammy has referred to other ponies/horses as IT and THAT, and Rowena was talking about Deli's mane, not Deli himself!

The equestrian events and companies in Europe seem so much more involved than here in North America! I would love to see some of the fun classes like at Bury Farm over here or a similar type of equestrian series to this one. How cool! You guys seem to have so many things going on all the time.

Am I the only one that thinks its ridiculous that Tommy can't ride in his jewelry? Everyone else has pierced ears and its not a problem, so why is it suddenly a problem to have piercings on the face?

That bugged me too. I worked on a very strict BHS yard and no piercings (or other jewellery) was allowed at all. One rule for all.

Just discovered H&C on my TV streaming service, not tech superstar, will need (kind!) support getting signed up for H&C+ if it is available in USA. LOVE THIS LOVE THIS LOVE THIS Academy. I am an old Pony Club person from one of the first USPC chapters from long ago (USPC was the USA version of the BHS Pony Clubs and our "bible" was the BHS handbook, I still have an early edition, Pammy just ask if anyone understands "wisping"!). This means that I AGREE with Pammy's assessment during spot check stable tour esp. about messy around the stalls. Why? As I learned in Pony Club keeping extremely tidy around the stable all the time - vigilantly! - is very important in case there is an emergency. Tripping hazards? Horse down? Need for acting quickly? Flood, fire, storm, evacuation. Think about it! This episode took me back to Pony Club camps where safety and thinking ahead were drilled into our young heads by earlier versions of Pammy. Pammy - from this old Pony Clubber, I salute you!

They have slightly different names due to the different series sponsors, so we have the Blue Chip All Star Academy (season 1 & 2) and the Omega Equine All Star Academy (season 3). If you type in 'Blue Chip' or 'Omega Equine' you should find they come up. Hope that helps! 🙂

Hi Kamille, the LeMieux All Star Academy is an exclusive series to H&C, where a group of horses and riders go to the Talland School of Equitation and take part in training and various challenges, culminating in one being crowned the All Star Academy champion.

I’m not to impressed with the set up this year, sending people home before they get chance to do or learn anything from Pam my is a total waste of time. What’s the point getting in then sent home a day later. Hope they rethink this very unfair on the contestants who want to learn more. Pam my doesn’t always know best when it comes to other peoples horses.

It wasn’t a real test therefor of course he was more generous than a usual judge would be. It’s their first challenge, without any training.

He was incredibly kind and generous with marks, agreed. But maybe he was grading more on the eventing level of marks. I always feel like judges are much easier with the marks for eventers than dressage riders.
