I remember Dave Grohl telling a story about when Lemmy showed up to some gathering and the first thing he did when he noticed Dave's baby was put out his cigar into his alcohol without anyone even asking him to. Apparently, the genuine, fairly nice guy we see in these interviews was real. It's such a rarity. Usually, even if someone starts nice, the industry drama, band drama, buying too much into the hype, or the drugs and/or alcohol get to them, but not here

Every time I saw Motorhead in concert I was amazed at the attendees. Long haired rockers, bikers, country fans, punks, rap fans, clean cut people and everyone got along. Lemmy once stopped playing and yelled at a guy in the audience for getting too rowdy and almost starting a fight. He said there was no place for violence at his show. Over the years I saw them 9 times.

@@123TauruZ321 I'm laughing my head off imagining you saying this to me in person, say, at a loft party somewhere where a few people are huddled together talking about music history, Lemmy, personal experiences in the music scenes etc. Then there's you, quietly listening, holding a can of drink and suddenly making your maiden voyage into the conversation with THAT offering. I'm laughing picturing you saying it and then trying to visualise how the entire group would react, especially if you were poker faced and completely serious in your demand. Thank you so much for the laugh, I needed it today as it was a most underwhelming shift at work. ;)

He was right about everything apart from Blair. In 60 years 1997 was the only time I felt hope and that for a decade at least we as a country did the right things. Increased the wages of Nurses and teachers, built new hospitals instead of leaving them to rack and ruin as Thatcher had done, helped bring a temporary peace in NI, reduced poverty for elderly and the working classes and played our part ( for once) in helping refugees who were running from conflicts! And before anyone says " Oh, but what about Iraq"? The USA were going in no matter what we did here in the UK. And lets not forget which party was 100% behind the invasion and it wasn't the Labour Party. Peace and Love, MoF' ers 👍
