My mate's brother was living in the next block back in 91. We all came over from London that year and stayed in LA for a few weeks. Caught sight of Lemmy one day at the poolside but never actually got the chance to meet him then. But my mate's bro and his girl bumped into Lemmy that Xmas eve, asked him what he was doing next day, he said "nothing special" so they asked him over for xmas dinner and sure enough he came round and was there all day, chatting, drinking, smoking and telling stories. He really appreciated the company on the day.

Lemmy was my old neighbor, I even got his mail by mistake once. Used to run into him all the time and when he wasn’t touring he was usually at the end of the outside bar at The Rainbow having a jack and coke and playing the poker machine. The place you originally thought was Lemmy’s place on Hammond Street was his very good friend Scotty‘s place, and he used the address for official mail and stuff since he was often on the road, that way Scotty could let him know if anything important had arrived
