Been said to many times the big climbs and summer heat never suited Kelly during the big tours. He was a cold wet suffer through the classics and monuments rider. His two regrets were the Worlds and RdV.

Sean Kelly was dangerous. He was good enough to stay with the leaders in the mountains but if the end was in a sprint, he would most likely beat everyone in the group.

All these lost monuments to Kelly, made the win at Chambery all the more sweet for Lemond, and so devastating for Kelly.

Yep, lemond just couldn't beat Kelly in the monument classics. 2nd behind him in Lombardy 83, MSR 86. 3rd behind him in LBL 84. Kelly racked up 9 monument wins and I don't know if Greg ever finished ahead of him

@@vulkitan I'm sure his 3 tours and 2 worlds were great comfort to him something Kelly's still dreaming of

Apart from that, Greg didn't win a lot Katie. Got his ass handed to him by Kelly in so many races and lemond would be first to admit it. He even said he'd trade Kelly a world's for a Paris Roubaix
@katiebee2662 жыл бұрын
@@vulkitan haha no one handed greg his own ass. Greg's the only clean champion of the modern era Kelly was a doer hence his time at PDM. Check out Greg's early career before he got shot in the chest he was comparative in every race he went to

@@vulkitan and greg never said he would trade Kellys roubaix for a world he said he would trade one of his worlds for a roubaix Sean kelly was never mentioned
