The chickens are beautiful and seem very content. This easy recipe makes delicious cookies, I’ll use it for Christmas cookie exchanges. Thanks. ❤

This is the best recipe for lemon crinkles. I love the addition of lemon extract. Rolling in white sugar first before rolling in the powdered sugar also made a lot of difference. It made the cookies crispier and the powdered sugar adhered to the cookies better. Thank you

Aw thank you so much! That means so much to me. This was an early episode, you should check out some of my more recent episodes where it gets even more ridiculous and full of nonsense. 😁

When I’m done mixing, I use a tiny, clean rubber spatula and scrape the excess with the back of a knife as I go. The scraping part is about an inch long and 1/2 inch wide. I love the rubber spatula-type scraper on the outside of your paddle attachment. I wish my KitchenAid had that. The instructions that came with it said you won’t really need to scrape the bowl very often. Wanna BET?! Thanks for the recipe, made it last night and will be rolling cookies this morning.

NICE! How did your cookies turn out??? I bought that paddle attachment with the rubber on Amazon! It's great, i use it all the time so I don't have to scrape the side as much.

So did I! They look so content as they wander around searching for nibbles and clucking to each other. Myrtle the hen: “Oh,look! I found a big juicy worm! Ya’ll come over here!” “Cluck! Cluck! Cluck!” 🐔🐔

I used to mix up my tablespoons and teaspoons all the time too. Here's what I did to avoid the mix up: I traded my teaspoon with a friend who had a completely different looking set.

I often use a dab of finger nail polish on items like keys, phone chargers, etc. Have fun with the colors bcuz the polish won’t damage the items but its great simple hack! 🤩💜

Hi! I made them but thet turned out really dry:( idk what i did wrong, can i get any tips? Love your video!
@BakingwithChickens4 жыл бұрын
So happy you made them!! Hmm how long did you bake them?? They turn dry if they're over baked. Just bake for 10 minutes at 350 and just a very light golden brown on the edges if none at all.
@lindacowles7562 жыл бұрын
G'day, Paula Ulloa! I wonder if dipping the measuring cup directly into the flour instead of spooning the flour into the cup makes for a larger quantity of flour in the mixture than desirable, possibly contributing to dryness. I noticed that in the video.
@janise.ke65 Жыл бұрын
Would different altitudes cause that?? Years ago my Mom moved from Florida to N.Carolina & had to make revisions to alot of her baking recipes for that reason…

G'day, Christina! I have a question about the butter temperature. I don't own a Kitchen Aid mixer; hence, no paddle attachment, so should my butter be soft for easier mixing?

Hi can I use margarine instead of butter?
@BakingwithChickens3 жыл бұрын
You could but it wouldn't be as good because of consistency, but it would work. Butter has more fat than margarine, so if your margarine is mostly water it will make thin, flat, crispy cookies.

Can I freeze them since they have powder sugar
@IboxingkangerooI Жыл бұрын
I make these for work. I usually do a decent size batch and then freeze them all without the powdered sugar on them. Thaw them out the morning I need them for about an hour or so and then roll them in powdered sugar.

For anyone making this, the food coloring is almost a must.
@BakingwithChickens5 жыл бұрын
For sure! The food coloring def makes it look prettier. Turmeric could be used as a natural coloring instead of gel colors as a natural option.

@BakingwithChickens4 жыл бұрын
@@poohlein a little goes a long way with turmeric. Start by adding 1/4 tsp to see if you like the color, and add a little more if you want more yellow color.

How much is 10tbsp of butter in grams?
@jazztryppyn84452 жыл бұрын
Christine McElroy has written in her comment above that it is 3/4 cup of butter, so that would be 113+56=169 grams. Googled your query and the answer I got was 141.8 grams. So yes, I will use 140 grams.

Can I use vegetable oil instead of butter?
@BakingwithChickens4 жыл бұрын
You could but I don't recommend it. It will significantly change the texture of the cookie and the dough won't stay stiff. It'll be more runny like a brownie, rather than keep a cookie shape.
