Wen and Olivia gets into a small fight when Olivia thinks that Wen isn't appreciating what he has, a family. She also admits that the reason she joined Lemonade Mouth was because of Wen.

@amanda kenya I know this is kind of late, but she is not selfish whatsoever. With her past family problems and her extreme anxiety when performing, she puts all that aside and joins the band to make everyone happy and make their voices heard. She especially did it for Gwen which is not a selfish act at all. Matter of fact, Gwen is selfish for basically forcing Olivia into the band and not appreciating Sydney when she tries all she can to get closer to Gwen. Like Olivia said, he has a family and isn't appreciating what he has.

He's complaining about his family (mainly because he doesn't like his step mother, who is very kind) when Olivia literally lost almost her entire family. One of Disney Channel Original movies best scenes in my opinion. Bridget and Adam made this scene so real. “I DID IT FOR YOU!” She loved him enough to face her fears on that stage just because he asked her to. It’s why this is my favorite DCOM.
@DanceRockerAJ11 жыл бұрын
Olivia is absolutely right. She doesn't have anyone but her grandmother and Wen is complaining about a new mom, and that mom loves him so much! So what if she's not your real mom at least she loves Wen! So many step parents don't even care about the kid, they just throw em out but Wen's mom loves him even though he's not her child! Wen should be so thankful for that rather than complaining. Just imagine how Olivia feels. Wen's feelings are nothing compared to Olivia's.
@bookandanimelover4life5824 жыл бұрын
@amanda kenya no she had a right to go off on him,yes she isn't the only one that has problems,but she was the only one that didn't complain about them the entire movie until now.She had to listen to Wen complain about his issues twenty four seven,and I'm not saying that his life is easy either,but atleast he got someone in the process of his mother leaving who actually gave a damn about him.Where as her father went to prison, her mother died and yes she has her grandmother,but sometimes not having your actual parents can effect someone,and atleast Wen had his dad who cared about him and his sister.Also Olivia dealt with a lot of anxiety ontop of that.She was finally speaking out for herself in this.

Morgan Fullwood he’s allowed to be upset, but the fact that he was constantly complaining and didn’t appreciate what he has at all is why Olivia was upset. There’s always going to be someone who has it worse than you, and that doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to be upset because of your problems just because they’re not as bad- but he really wasn’t appreciating the fact that at least she was trying. He doesn’t have to like her and he can be upset about it, but she wasn’t a horrible person and he’s honestly lucky to have someone like her in his life

How it went down in the book if anyone's interested: “I was cornered,” Wen told me in the café. “And then as we were heaving this ten-ton stone-topped coffee table up the stairs he asked me to be part of the wedding. He wants me to be his best man.” I waited for the problem, but it didn’t come. That was it. “But that’s great news!” “No, it’s terrible,” he said, fiddling with a napkin. “I’m not doing it.” “Why not?” He raised his eyebrow at me. “You just don’t get it, Olivia. You never do.” It’s true, I was having a hard time understanding him. “Being your dad’s best man is an honor. What’s the problem? This isn’t about Sydney again, is it?” “What do you think? Of course it’s about Sydney. Just because she’s leeching onto our family doesn’t mean I have to be happy about it. And it doesn’t mean I have to help.” I guess even then I really didn’t fully understand how strongly he felt. I laughed. “That’s ridiculous, Wen! You’re overreacting.” But he didn’t think it was funny. He looked hurt. A couple of seconds later he threw down the napkin, grabbed his coat and headed for the door. “Wen? Where are you going?” He didn’t answer. I snatched my own coat and followed him out the door. “Don’t be like that.” He didn’t slow down at all. He kept walking through the snowy parking lot, his hands shoved deep in his pockets. “Come on,” I called, trying to catch up. “We haven’t even talked about Catch A RI-Zing Star. We need to figure out what to do.” “Nothing to figure,” he said over his shoulder. “We can’t play, so we’re out.” Soon I was right behind him. “Maybe. But still, let’s talk.” “Maybe?” he said bitterly, not looking at me. “You’re the one who believes in omens. Did you ever consider that the fight last night might have been a sign? Don’t you think maybe it’s time for Lemonade Mouth to call it quits?” “No,” I said, shocked to hear him talk that way. All this time, he’d always been the one convincing me not to drop out. It felt strange to suddenly be the one doing the convincing. “I don’t know. I’d just hate for us to give up so easily. We’ve worked too hard. This can’t be how it’s supposed to end.” That was when he spun around. “No? Then what’s supposed to happen? And why did Mo get sick? Why did Charlie burn his hand? Face it, Olivia. It’s a lost cause.” The snow continued falling around us. I felt it on my face, and I watched it gather in Wen’s hair and on his jacket. Eventually he turned away. I watched him traipse across the first two lanes of Wampanoag Road. A plow passed between us, a loud scraping against the asphalt. By then, Wen was on the narrow island halfway to the other side. “So what are you saying?” I called over the noise. “You’re giving up?” “Yes!” “And you won’t even take a second to talk?” “No!” I couldn’t believe it. He was being so unreasonable. At the same time, though, I felt like it was all my fault. I should have kept my mouth shut about Sydney. Another big vehicle rolled by, a noisy city bus, the hourly shuttle to Providence. After it passed, he was still on the median strip watching me. Then he turned and continued across the other two lanes. “But you can’t!” I called out finally. “What if this is our last chance?” He was on the far side now. And that’s when he shouted back. The wind picked up his voice, lifting and lowering it so it was hard to catch everything he said. “I’m surprised to hear you say that, Olivia! You of all people I would have expected to be happy about this! It means you’re off the hook! You don’t have to go onstage. That’s what you wanted all along, isn’t it?” That hit me like a punch, but I refused to let it show. “What if Mo and Charlie decide they can still play tonight? It’s only one song!” “Even if they do, I’m done!” We stood staring at each other for a few seconds. Another car went by. That’s when I suddenly felt a hot rush of anger. I screamed into the wind and snow. “This isn’t about Lemonade Mouth and you know it, Wen! This is about your dad and Sydney!” I could see in his face that I’d surprised him. He’d never heard me yell like that before. After a moment he called back, “Yeah? What do you know? know?" That’s when I lost it. Everything came bursting out of me. All the frustration and sadness I’d been bottling up, all the words I hadn’t said, it all came bubbling up from somewhere deep inside. And once it started pouring out, I couldn’t stop it. “More than you!” I shrieked at him. “You don’t know anything! You don’t even know what you have!” The wind blew my words back into my face, but that only made me shout louder. You should have heard me, Dad. Even you would have been surprised. “At least you have a father who’s around! You even have Sydney, and she’s terrific and really wants to be your friend even though you don’t see it! My mom’s gone and I don’t even know where she is! My father’s in prison! And you have the nerve to feel sorry for yourself? You big baby! You jerk!” I’m not telling you this to hurt you, Dad, but you already know how I feel. And of course I know you would change the situation if you could. But everything was rising up inside me. I couldn’t help letting it out. “And now you’re backing out on all of us? Well, think about this: I’ve been showing up and standing in front of that stupid microphone even though every nerve in my body tells me to run away! I’ve been doing it anyway! So go ahead! Give up! See if I care! You’re right, I wasn’t the one who wanted to be in a band in the first place!” “Then why did you do it?” I could hardly believe he needed to ask. Was he blind? “For you! I did it for you! You jerk!”

Imma play devils advocate here. I get what Olivia was trying to say to Wen but it really wasn’t her place to say that. She’s basically using her own life to invalidate his feelings. Its basically someone saying “oh but other people have it worse” how is that supposed to help anybody?! Just because you have a dead mom and criminal dad, dosen’t mean you get to tell other people how to feel. If my father left my mom for a girl almost my age I would be pretty pissed too. Having a broken leg dosen’t mean that my scrapped knee doesn’t hurt.

She is so damn right ! People take things for granted and that that saddens me the most of all things people do ! And at the end .... when they lose the thing they thought for granted they WILL crumble :(

@amanda kenya That is not true,she was the least that complainer about her problems in the movie!!!

@Amanda1994xx, Olivia does have a point. Wen is not loving and appreciating what he have. Yeah, I can tell that Olivia almost lost her entire family and all she had left is her grandmother.

When I first realized they like eachother was at the end of this scene..... XD Olivia's got a point though.. I know how it feels, espaicailly when your friends take for granted what you hardly ever get to do or talk to someone...

Just goes to show that what the next person is going thru could be worse compared to your situation . & that someone would trade places w/ you in a heartbeat

Same like people are acting as if he isn't allowed to express how he feels, especially since his mom left by complete choice and didn't love her kids anymore...plus u can tell he's still not over it at all.

But he was complaining to Olivia! She had it much worse. Why on earth is he always complaining about his parents to Olivia that doesn't have no one but her grandmother. It is okay to feel sad sometimes but hell we've gotta be grateful for those things and people we take for granted.

@@vio3366 but sill he feels like his mom is getting replaced and he doesn't like it just cause his dad loves her doesn't mean he has too

I feel so sorry for her like while most people their age understand death probably 80% won't have had a parent die and then to cope her dad turns to crime and she has to listen to Wen spout about how it's not fair he's getting a step mum when all she's probably thinking is in a few years my nan is going to die and then I'll be all alone 😢 xxx
