Lemonies (Lemon Brownies) -with yoyomax12

These lemon brownies or "lemonies" have a very nice strong lemon flavour and have the texture and moistness of a brownie.

Lemon Brownies
3/4 Cup all purpose flour
3/4 Cup white sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter softened
2 eggs
juice from 1/2 lemon (about 1 tbsp)
zest from 1/2 lemon (about 1-2 tsp, add as much as you like)
In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar and salt.
Mix in the softened butter. eggs lemon juice and zest until you get a nice smooth batter..
Spoon into a greased 8X8" pan. I line my pan with aluminum foil that has been greased to make clean up and cutting up the brownies easier.
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
Glaze
1/2 Cup powdered (icing, confectioner's sugar)
1 Tbsp lemon juice
additional lemon zest (I added about 2 tsp)
Stir together the above ingredients and pour over the cooled lemon brownies or do like I did in the video and pour over hot lemon brownies that have had a few holes poked in them with a fork.
You can double the recipe and bake it in a 9x13" pan for 30 minutes.

I made these tonight because I was craving lemon, added a half cup more of flour and sugar then added a half cup of heavy cream to keep them moist and then poked holes while it was hot like you recommended and poured over the glaze... The. BEST LEMON DESSERT IVE EVER HAD! Thankyou so much for sharing!! 10/10 recommend!!!

I've made these a few times now, and everybody that has tried them has loved them. I added a new twist though, I melt about 60 grams of white chocolate and mix it with the zest and lemon juice, then put it on top of the lemonies when they are fresh out of the oven (after poking holes in, as you suggested). Delicious!

I love this recipe and I tried it too they were phenomenal I love the glaze and they were so easy to make and I had all the ingredients at home I never tried a recipe from you tube because all those require "special" ingredients like a stand or hand held mixer etc. But this one I tried it was awesome I wish I could show you the picture but I don't know how. I doubled the recipe and used mfp to calculate 161 calories per serving as 1/16th of pan So will also be 161 kcals per 1/8 of original recipe All including the icing, though I did use I can't believe its not butter margarine instead of butter 23.7g carbs (17.1g sugar), 5.3g fat, 2.4g protein per square = 161kcals

I made this recipe twice and it came out flatter than a pancake. You must of omitted baking soda or baking powder in the recipe.

Just google “Lemonies recipe” and you will see there is no leavening agent in them, brownies don’t have it either. It is the eggs that make them cake like. If you notice the pan after I put the batter in and when after I bake them, they don’t rise very much at all. Watch me poke the fork into them at the end, I poke to the bottom of the pan and the fork goes halfway in.

First Recipe I tried from this Channel and I loved them. Yeah, I should have doppelt the amount. I used Oranges instead of Lemons and this way, it's a bit sweeter, the Oranges we had were pretty sweet (but well, you are not inside the Fruit, like one says in my country, they could have been more tart than sweet), so next time I might use a little less sugar or try to persuade the person in my household who does the shopping to buy lemons XD Otherwise, so so good.
