I love the Chinook. I ran one for over 10 years, no major problems. It would lean waaay over in the corners but would keep holding on. I'm not surprised that it placed well. I think the oil consumption is part of the smog. How did he get back to San Diego without it to sleep in?

The fiat had a huge issue that cost them a ton of time in the pits when they lost both belts and overheated the heck out of the engine loosing all the coolant. Took a ton of time fiddling with the Fiat's goofy crank pulley arrangement and bleeding the cooling system, they went back on track but it was hot enough I'm not so sure that cylinder head is very well straight and sealed...

But it still runs and we'll be racing at Houston next month! It was mostly just a bad alternator mount that caused the thrown belt. We havent "fixed" it, but it is strapped in place to stop shaking... to busy re-themeing to worry about it

@@11-Percent-Racing great to hear, I was really glad to see you guys back out on track. I know with about any Mitsubishi loosing any amount of coolant from overheating quickly results in very bad things happening to head gaskets, so I was worried your guy's day was done when you came in practically dry of coolant. If it runs, it runs good enough, lol.

435 € can buy a decent car in Denmark. And easily get a well working car in east and southeast Europe.. especially since new EU rules makes recycling or recovering cars more attractive, compared to scrapping it. Anderstorp, Zandvoort or Snetterton could be good locations

EU countries tend to have higher standards for annual inspections, so used car prices get depressed by (approximately) the cost of bringing the car up to road-legal standards.

dont know what wrong with the guys with the 93 duster i had a 94 shadow v-6 5 speed (same car) bought it with 69k and drove it every day drag raced it on the weekends finally the timing belt broke at 238k never changed the engine or clutch

Also probably never bought one that had been sitting rotting somewhere and took it on a race track either. This is the series that blows slant 6's up like fireworks(although if people would stop and put windage tray in oil pans on these things, they would have less issues..... nearly free, I don't think I've seen any in all the wrapups)

I've never seen a c4 Corvette for $500 The cheapest I've seen is like 1500 But I've never seen one as nasty as those Where the crap are they getting them I want one lkl

Called a scrap yard. Also depends on the area you're in, I've noticed certain parts of the country are more prone to " I kNoW wHaT i HaVe!!!!!!" syndrome. the C4 you're going to get for anywhere near 500$ is not going to be streetable..... just reality. You also have to remember these guys are selling everything of real value off these cars to get it down to near the 500$ mark. That, and from watching these guys and talking to a few lemons guys...... it's more about spirit of than actual numbers. The c4 is really such a horrible POS to begin with(without serious modification), it's not like letting a 700$ hoopty ass vette in is going to "DOMINATE!"
