Heads up. I got 10 in summit. And 10.5 in boot grip. Both fit perfect for some reason. I think cuz the stitching at the toe. These are slippers quality comfort with boot performance. Love both of them!!

Nice video. Can't wait for the black version. I owned the waterproof original boulder and currently use the outlander. This looks like a middle ground to get a grippier boot wear the tread won't wear as much as the summit on concrete. I agree with the look if the novelty. I wish the summit style came in a flatter look like this tread . That would make for a fantastic looking boot with a flatter tread.

Amazing video and perfect timing! Thanks so much. You guys put so much work into the channel and we really appreciate you guys. 👍 I tried on Primal 2’s the other day and your reviews and comparisons have been enlightening. And I was also looking at the Splays. Also just noticed in time stamps, 3:12 was in there twice. I wasn’t sure why I couldn’t see the chapter marks.🤔 This video’s location is. Ind blowing. 🤯 Can you please add longer drone scenes? 😊🙏

Thanks for the support! We're having a ton of fun doing this. I messed with the time stamps, should look normal now. And yeah, a lot of the drone shots got cut a little short in this one because it was pretty windy up on the peak and there were a ton of people around, but we'll keep it in mind going forward!

Great looking boots. I really like all Lems models, but wish they'd have the width/size chart on the site, so you can make a one and done decision, rather than having to email them for every size of every model you're interested in to get the info. Thanks for showcasing these, very aesthetically pleasing and functional.
@sonsofsever9 ай бұрын
Yeah the sizing/width info is a little hidden on their website. Just above the spot where you can select a size for each shoe there's a hyperlink that says "sizing note", if you click on that it'll pop up a page with some shoe specific info about sizing recommendation and width
@whitemakesright21778 ай бұрын
Yeah, this is an annoyance that I have with the whole shoe industry. You know that they have the info, so why don't they just publish the length and width of the shoe? Why the vague numerical sizing? For that matter, why can't companies even keep their internal sizing consistent? "This model runs small" means that they are mislabeling them. If they know that a nominal "10.5" really fits like a 10, why not just label it a 10 in the first place?

@@steve9377, hmm, I'll have to check again, I've never seen anything with inches or centimeters on sizing, just generalized pictures and list of what's wide, wider, and widest, which doesn't help me determine where I need to start, haha. Thank you.

I bought the Boulder Grip after watching some of the reviews and really really hoping that LEMS goes to the Grip sole on some of their other shoes.... I'm wanting a non lined version and one of the tennis shoe style shoes with the Grip sole.
@sonsofsever8 ай бұрын
I had the same thought! I'd love for them to expand that sole to their other styles. There are a ton of shoes on their website listed as discontinued right now, so I'm sure a lot of awesome updated shoes are coming

I have the Summits but I find that they are overkill for my needs. What I want is minimal stack height, the most flexible sole, and the most ground feel. Given that info, would you recommend the original Boulder Boot WP or then new Boulder Boot Grip WP? If the differences between the Original and Grip are barely negligible then I will go with the grip for the benefit of the added traction. Thank you!
@sonsofsever8 ай бұрын
I don't think there's a huge difference between the ground feel of the original Boulder Boot WP and the Grip honestly. I think getting the Grip for the sole it has is totally worth it. You could always take the insole out and up the ground feel a bit that way, but I don't find it necessary.

Would you recommend this in an auto shop setting? Im a mechanic and do not need steel toe however do need a non slip sole. Or any suggest for something like this. I watch all your reviews and enjoy youe guys videos. Thanks a bunch!
@sonsofsever5 ай бұрын
I think this would work perfect for you. They’ve started putting this same sole on some of their sneakers as well. So if you’re looking for a low ankle option with the non slip sole there’s that as well.

@@sonsofsever I appreciate your response so much. I was looking into the kourts with the same sole but would much rather have a boot version. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet but LEMS is currently having a sale 20% off so I can't thank you enough for your response!!

These will be a bit cold for freezing temperatures and snow conditions right?
@sonsofsever8 ай бұрын
We took the Summits on a below freezing hike in the snow. I had on a thermal pair of merino wool socks and the only time my feet felt cold was when we stopped moving at the summit of the hike which was like 8000 feet above sea level and the wind was blowing pretty hard. I don't think there's a big difference in the leather of the two, so I would think with the right socks they'd be ok

What are your thoughts on sizing for the Grips? I am usually a 9, but have shoes that range from 8.5 to 9.5.

@sonsofsever8 ай бұрын
Too much in what way?
@jeffm92278 ай бұрын
@sonsofsever Too heavy, not flexible enough. Maybe go with the boulder mid instead? It rains a lot where I live so the waterproofing would be nice, but not sure I want to wear thick socks in the summer.
@sonsofsever8 ай бұрын
@@jeffm9227 I mean obviously they're gonna be heavier than a sneaker, but as far as boots go these are crazy light, and they are super flexible in my opinion, so I wouldn't worry there. I would definitely consider them a 3 season shoe though unless your summers are really temperate. In Utah where it's consistently in the upper 90s to low 100s there's no way I'll be wearing mine in the summer, but it's more of a heat thing than anything else really. For fall/winter/spring though, if I didn't have other gear I was testing these would be my daily for sure.

Great review except for the “dislikes” which I think are rather stupid & not thought out, such as that the leather needs some care. ALL leather boots need some nourishment, but that’s actually not a 100% requisite & they’ll be be just fine if you choose not too (like a lot of ppl do). And secondly, that it features speed hooks, which was a dislike that stemmed out of pure LAZINESS! Ffs, they’re a hiking boot, not a pair of loafers!!! If you want a pair of slip-on, maybe review slip on shoes/boots that aren’t actually easy to “slip on” & give that a dislike. I believe a valid dislike would be: 1). Not a Goodyear welt & hence not resoleable. 2). Roughout leather which would make them more cut resistant & most light scratches self heal with a bit of a brushing.
@sonsofsever6 ай бұрын
You call it laziness, I call it convenience 😂 but you do you. Honestly a lot of it came down to the fact that these are a hard boot to dislike. So I for sure got nitpicky hahaha They definitely have their drawbacks, but our videos are about OUR likes and OUR dislikes based on our experiences. People watch them for our opinions. I appreciate that you have your own and that you’ve shared them here, and I can agree, the inability to resole is a major draw back that we’re becoming more and more aware of since working with the Bearfoot Bruin and the JG African Ranger. We’re also learning a lot about leather qualities. It’s a learning process and our base of knowledge is growing wider and wider with each video. BUT….. I will still always want my boots to be able to slip on and off 😘 not giving up on that. It can be done.
@stevej.66746 ай бұрын
@@sonsofsever but you cannot mark against a lace up boot because you cannot slip it on laced up. I could understand if you were reviewing a Chelsea boot that was hard to slip on. That would be 100% relative & makes sense, but not when you’re referring to a lace up boot. Anyway, it’s your review vid & your credibility on the line. Moving on.
