Terrific video from a terrific series .The summer of 1980-81India tour of Australia.-The video clip was from1st test 1st innings at Sydney.Though India lost this test by innings and 4 runs they managed to draw the 2nd test at Adelaide and then win the 3rd test at Melbourne by 59 runs to square the series 1-1.Australia had a formidable pace attack comprising the dangerous Len Pascoe . the legendary Dennis Lillee and Rod Hogg.Thankful for the upload

Former Indian opening batsman Chetan Chauhan was a very compact & a very successful opener at that forging many partnerships with India's living legend opener Sunil Gavaskar. The unique thing about Chauhan was that he never hit a test ton in his entire career & his highest score being 97 .Was a good fielder in the close in cordon.

He was one of the best but i dont think he ever scored a test century.

You are spot on with that. He was a compact batsman & a gutsy fielder in the close in cordon, especially at forward short leg.

Chetan Chauhan was very gutsy player. I remember 1977 78 series, when all indian players exluding Gavaskar and Chauhan were afraid of facing Thomson. Chetan chauhan in Perth hit Thomson for 8 fours in two overs. He lost his career after 1990 81 melbourne test fot not obeying Gavasksr order for a walk out from the field.

@@ManishVerma-nn7rl You mean G R Viswanath and Mohinder Amarnath were afraid of Thomson....What a joke...In that series Viswanath made 473 runs at an average of 52,55 with 5 consecutive half centuries.Amarnath batted fearlessly and played some good knocks.Thomson himself has praised Gavaskar, Viswanath and Amarnath the way they batted well against him
