If that load shifts, which it could you’re going to be tightening your ratchets against a live lane of traffic. Always tighten your ratchets on the near side , really you should of put two straps on each one.

Your correct sir even one strap and the curtains wouldn't stop loosing that load plus whilst she was strapping at that height I'd be wearing a hard hat and not bloody flip flops yes it's hot but a cracked head or broken foot is better that some fashion statement

You've probably worked this out by now but you want to reverse into any spot by your driver's side as much as possible. I've found that you want the tail of the trailer to already be close to aligned how you want it before you start reversing. It's all in the setup. Obviously that's not always possible in tight yards and service centres. Another tip is to get the trailer pointing where you want it to go and then just follow it. If you keep the wheels turned, the angle between the truck and trailer gets tighter and tighter and you then have to chase the trailer to try to reverse the trailer's direction. Like I said though, this is all stuff you've probably gotten the hang of by now, once you're doing it full time.

Have you tried "what 3 words"? If you can get the customer to give you there what 3 words location it takes you right to the spot, even if its in the middle of a field, forest or industrial estate.

Tilbury is a jungle, and you should have skipped south mimms at that time of day for a quick pitstop, getting mixed up with all the overnighters was a bad idea, plus there is no cheap breakdowns on a motorway, most firms want you recovered off the motorway to a safe place or workshop,.a stressful day all round lena,.
