-The zones of Luftwaffe operation were West, North Africa & Mediterranean and Scandinavia. Each of these 4 sectors absorbed about 25% of Luftwaffe single and twin engine Aircraft. In fact the Eastern (against Soviet Union) was only 23% after 1942. If it weren't for the Western Allies Luftwaffe strength over the Soviet Union would be 3 times greater. -Soviet philes and propagandists like to promote the idea that Russia did 90% of the fighting. The numbers don't add up. 1 The Fight in North Africa lead to the surrender of 150,000 German Africa Korps troops and all of their equipment at the same time as the battle of Stalingrad in 1942/43, a loss just as great though the British and Americans didn't murd their POW. The Luftwaffe Transports and their Escorts alone would have allowed the Germans to achieve their air resupply objectives of the 6th Army. The Soviet Victory at Stalingrad was made possible by Enigma decrypts which told the Soviets the distribution of German forces and allowed them to concentrate their troops at Stalingrad. 2 Allies Invade Sicily in Early 1943 and then Northern Italy in Mid 1943 at the same time as battle of Kursk. Paton's troops got into Germany before the Russians did via Italy and Czechoslovkia. 3 Allies Invade at Normandy in 1944. Table 3. Churchill and Roosevelt were grievously out of thier depth dealing with Stalin. Thanks for another great video!

And Roosevelt's main guy, Harry Hopkins, was known to be sympathetic to Stalin, if not a strait out spy for Stalin. It just still amazes me that Military "experts" totally miscount anything Soviet/Russian make, do, or say about military matters. Drives me nuts. If you want to fix a problem, you must understand you have a problem first.

I don't think Churchill was. He damn well knew who and what he was dealing with. And I find it hilarious that the only agreement he ever made with Stalin that he kept was a naked carving up Eastern Europe proposal. By that agreement Greece was part of the British sphere of influence and Stalin refrained from supporting the communist rebels in the Greek civil war. But the British Empire was a spent force in the 2nd half of the war. Only the US had the power to contend with Stalin as an equal and Roosevelt's big mistake was in thinking he could 'manage' Uncle Joe. Like he had done with everybody else, foreign and domestic. And maybe, if Roosevelt had not weakened during 1944 and not died the year after, who knows how things would have turned out.

A lot of people talk about lend lease to the Soviets and what impact it had. Yet almost no one seems to remember the "lend lease" that western countries provided to Germany in 1940 with the capitulation of France and the British withdrawal at Dunkirk. The Germans captured vast swathes of equipment and material that were an enormous boost to their combat capability in 1941. From guns, vehicles, artillery, fuel, and rations. For example in 1941 upwards of 80% of German motorized transport came from captured stock. Without all of this material the Germans would have been nowhere near as successful or quick in their advance during Barbarossa. The Germans of course couldn't get replacements and by 1942-1943 most of their captured vehicles had been lost to the Russian weather, combat and so on. Levelling the field with the Soviets, who bore the brunt of the fighting from 1941-1943 and had already significantly degraded German offensive power before the majority of lend lease had arrived from 1943-1945. Lend lease no doubt helped the Soviets end the war sooner and with millions less lives lost. But the blood debt that the Soviet people paid; Russians, Ukrainians and so many more is what ultimately defeated the German army.

Many thanks for these important and accurate information! That's correct, Lend-Lease needs to be put into perspective.

@@Armageddon4145The "lend lease" it's just a gloryfied supply program used by modern day Russophobes to claim a bigger US involvement in winning ww2 in Europe than it was not real and downsizing the USSR's leadership and most importantly it's people's sacrifice and achievements.
@YouTubemessedupmyhandle Жыл бұрын
Describing that as ‘lend lease’ is rather disrespectful to those that died in the fighting of 1940, which by a sounder logic were enabled by the alliance the USSR was in with Nazi Germany which included the supply of materials essential to Germany’s war effort.

Yes,but..on ruSSian way:) The war is over and the reckoning has come. Of the 11.3 billion USD value, the Americans demanded to pay 2.6 billion USD for what remained undamaged by the Soviets. The USSR refused the payments. In 1948, the US proposed to pay half the amount to the Soviets over a period of 30 years, to which Stalin declared that "...the USSR has fully repaid its Lend-Lease debts with the blood of its soldiers..." In 1972, payment negotiations resumed, with the USSR accepted payments of $722 million, including interest. After another default, Bush and Gorbachev agreed on a new amount in 1990, in the amount of 674 million USD. This amount was finally paid by Russia in August 2006. So, for the aid amounting to 11.3 billion USD (in 1945), the Russians paid a literally ridiculous price.

The USSR constantly claims selfvictory over Nazism and it is big LIE. The Nazis were defeated by all members of a coalition of Allies, the USSR liberated only a small part of Europe outside SSSR boarders. Without the USA and GB, the USSR would have lost completely. And the liberated Eastern Europe of the Soviet Union eventually turned into an occupation. Some barbarians replaced other barbarians. Western Europe flourished, while Soviet-controlled Eastern Europe behind barbed wire began to impoverish thanks to communist management of the economy, lack of freedom, isolation from world markets.. Russia is evil. The USSR was part of the Allied coalition from 1941, the USSR liberated just east of Europe, without the help of the USA and Great Britain, Russia would most likely not exist today. The liberation of Eastern Europe by the Soviet army soon became the occupation of Eastern Europe. The Soviets later separated the part of Europe that fell under their influence from the free Western Europe with a fence with barbed wire, and all those who fled from the communist misery and ruin were mercilessly shot or torn apart by dogs. Such liberation from the Nazis is very similar to today's Russian "liberation" in Ukraine, where the Russian army has already murdered tens of thousands of Russian-speaking civilians, which it supposedly came to liberate. Many millions of people destroyed their lives, families, property, future, memories... Russia is evil.
