I love Var's lectures. He is so taleneted. Pity that he didn't win the title. He was so close. He definitely deserved it put he didn't withstand the pressure in the final games. I had a feeling that he kinda scared of Kamsky.

Very instructive game, thank you! Just a suggestion, instead of Ne4 I was thinking of Qe3-f2 idea, winning simpler and faster. Plugged it to Fritz and engines agree with me too :)

Nick Beqo though Qf2 does not deliver a check, handing over the tempus to white which doesn't eliminate his chances

Hello Varuzhan , I have recently took up chess and I'm working to improve my game the most efficient way I know how. I have watched all your videos and appreciate your knowledge and the way you play chess. I am learning the d4, c4 openings you play with white while learning the Kings Indian defense with black. Please know your videos are appreciated and your the only GM I am really interested in following. I would like to one day begging playing tournaments so please keep the videos coming. Thank you aspiring GM Jason Taylor Sr.

I've never seen akobian present a game where he lost. Is that a custom among chess players to only show one's own wins?
@richonfen
@richonfen 10 жыл бұрын
No, some players just show their losses, some show everything

It's better to present your own won game because your views on how you develop your strategy to win and the manner you execute them are better understood.

I like your easy explained moves and in general your way of play you just make it seems very easy nothing complicated, I wish I can think of my chess moves that smooth with not much complexity like you do😒 your mind while playing doesn't go nuts trying to come up with simple move but still you have nice games I wish l can scratched all what I have learned about chess from zero and start thinking easy like you!

instead of Ne4, i will play Qe3+ (check) forcing the king to Kh1, then push my queen Qf2 threatening a checkmate on h2. what ever move he play after my move of Qf2, i will mate in one move.
@coolstuff7285

Qh4 protect h2 there is no mate. And you are down a piece and lose.

I don't understand taking the repetition draw if there are no rating points no advantage to be gained since Armageddon games are not rated.

Better to win than draw :) Var saw his opportunity and executed.
@danielmanahan692
@danielmanahan692 10 жыл бұрын
Abhinav Suresh It is not better in any way to win. This is a non rated game. nothing is accomplished by the win. a draw is equal to a win, it is not even considered a draw, it is considered a win. It is as if to say it is better to win in 10 moves than it is to win by draw in 1 move. why?

***** Of course a draw is equal to a win, but chess players are NOTHING if not drama queens ;)
