- The thumbnail for this video is the image discussed by Riefenstahl in the first part of this extract. Doubt has been cast on how far it matches up to her accounts.
- Doubt has also been cast on the real independence of her film company for the Olympic films: publishing.cdl...
- Her denials did not shut down the charge that she used Roma and Sinti inmates of the Salzburg Maxglan detention camp:

She was a great film maker and a great liar. She did in fact personally select Romani extras imprisoned in a concentration camp near the film location of 'Tiefland', as attested by survivors who witnessed her do just that. Even on the film shoot they were treated terribly, locked up when not filming without heat or adequate food. I admire her films and photographs as powerful images but will never admire her. Like Albrecht Speer, after the war she pretended she was just an artist who knew nothing about the extermination camps, treatment of Jews and other 'undesirables' and all the other crimes in plain view, like the millions of slave laborers working all over Germany. They knew exactly what was going on; that they never took responsibility for it is contemptible.

I agree with every one of your words. She is just defending herself and her (beautiful) work. Can anyone truly believe that the nazis did not check her movies before publishing? There you see she lies, in my opinion.

My point exactly. Yes, she was a very talented artist, but she was deeply entangled into the Nazi regime. That's why her career ended in 1945. Just like Veit Harlan's career ended with the nazi regime. He was also a great German film maker during the 1930s, but after he made the infamous antisemitic propaganda film "Jud Suess" his career was equally tainted beyond repair.

Mick Jagger only accepted Leni Riefenstahl as photographer for a photo shoot with Bianca Jagger in London. She was also a consultant for the Rolling Stones stage shows. In one photo, Mick Jagger hugs Riefenstahl. ( Google ) Andy Warhol, David Bowie and George Lucas were also fascinated by Riefenstahl

Then again, Cosby didn't make a TV show about his raping behavior. And his other actors and production crew didn't know what he was up to. Leni knew what she was doing, even if she didn't know to what extent AH and the other Nazis were evil. Night of the Long Knives had already happened and everyone knew something about it. She should have known she was on the wrong side of humanity.

Brilliant film maker with awesome techniques of the day. Triumph of will is an excellent output and there is no reason for her to be coy at admitting it. Cant understand why she was being reviled so much when people like Fritz Hippler who made such toxic films that compared Jews to rats got away scot free. Same is the case with the makers of another movie another movie 'Jude Suss'. Society has been unkind to her.

When they recce someone there, they just diligently accuse that person for that. No matter what would have been the reality and the impacts it laid on that person afterwards. It is not actually the society, but a specific cluster that has fed these preachings in the minds of the rest of social groups. Now, we need to acknowledge what her achievements were and stop being a biased dolt of that dire extent.
