I love Lennon's name and how her name is based off of John Lennon, one of the worlds greatest musical artist. John Lennon's nickname was actually Lenny, which is what Lorelei calls us. Its amazing and I love it.
@DellaStreet1235 жыл бұрын
I don't think John Lennon had a real nickname, he was just John to most people. He may have been called something like "Lenna" once in a while. In a recent interview, Paul McCartney explained the origin of his nickname Macca, and he said that it was a Liverpool thing. Take the first syllable of the last name and add an a. McCartney becomes Macca, Lennon becomes Lenna, Harrison Harra, etc. However, John Lennon was great at making up nicknames for himself, the craziest probably being "Dr. Winston O'Boogie". When he returned his MBE medal, he signed the accompanying note "John Lennon of Bag".

We were so worried about taking our bun to get neutered. We actually put it off for weeks because we didn't want anything to happen to him. We finally gave in when he got to the point where he was constantly spraying, not using his litter box, & humping legs 😜. When the nurse called after the surgery to say everything went well I cried out loud (happy tears). He was pitiful for a few hours, but bounced back quickly! He seemed joyous afterwards (maybe not sexually frustrated anymore 😂) and he was immediately 100% potty trained. $400 for the procedure... but he's worth it ❤️

Ann Weston My bunny was pretty upset for a while after. Never knew an animal could hold such a grudge lol. after getting her spayed, she did start biting for a while which was a surprise as she had NEVER bitten anyone before. But after a while, she came back to her typical self. Medication was pretty terrible. My bunny is very very food driven so we used that to our advantage. We would put a treat right next to the syringe and squirt it in her mouth as she went to eat the treat. But sometimes, she was too clever for that and that’s when we had to result to holding her and force-medicating her which sucked to do and I felt very bad after but it had to be done.

I’ve already owned many bunnies and guinea piggies in my life. I had a large cage and all the supplies needed to care for him. I’ve named the bunny Dusty. I think he’s around one year old. He isn’t neutered. He is really friendly considering his circumstances. I think I will definitely neuter him but it’ll take me a while to save as this isn’t on it plan right now. I just wanted to say a few things, I actually am going to the Humane Society this week to get my rabbit neutered and since the place we got him didn't tell us age we think he is an average rabbit, probably no more than a few years and this video really helped. The second thing was that my friends friend who is 8 years old was going to get a rabbit for Easter and get one of those cages for him. I was like "nope", we sat down and discussed it and he said to help him one weekend and I changed his mind from a caged bunny to possible free roam bunny with proper diet. That's all I wanted to say have a great day!

She still is extremely scared and and afraid of beeing touched. My male bunny on the other hand is much braver and really likes being pet by me. I'd say bunnies are like cats in a way: Sometimes they do, some times they don't like being pet/cuddle. Also some bunny love physical touch with their humans, others never will. Maybe give her some space. She's very young, going through a hormonal change now and also she's an prey animal. Let her come to you when she wants it. Maybe give her some treats to come to you or start target stick training with her. That helped us a lot! She's ways less scared now. Wish you the best ✌💕

After my bunny got neutered he bounced back almost instantly, which was both a relief and a concern, because he kept trying to jump on my bed, despite me removing his little step. Once he even knocked over my bin, then while I was distracted cleaning up the mess, he leapt onto my bed! I was a nervous wreck during that entire week. Oh and I just want to point out that (at least in the UK, but I'm fairly sure it's the same around the world), spaying isn't just surgically removing the ovaries, the vet also removes the rabbit's entire uterus/womb, which makes it a lot more invasive, but also eliminates the risk of uterine cancer. It also minimises sexual, territorial and aggressive behaviour, because a lot of those hormones are produced in the womb, not just the ovaries.
@MillieLouise-nv1fw Жыл бұрын
I’m getting my rabbit done today in the uk . Did it all go well because half the videos I’m seeing are from the USA so I’m not sure if it’s the same.
@jmbrignon2712 Жыл бұрын
@@MillieLouise-nv1fw Sorry for the late reply, I've been away for a week. I hope everything went well for your rabbit. It should normally be the same procedure everywhere, so the US videos should apply in the UK as well. For neutering male rabbits, it's simpler and less invasive, as the vet is just removing the testicles, so there's less chance of complications and recovery should be faster. For spaying female rabbits, as I said the vet removes the entire uterus, which is more taxing on the bunny, so she'd be much sorer and would need longer to recover. From what I've been told by vets, it's a very standard and straightforward procedure, and the greatest danger comes from the tiny chance that a rabbit reacts poorly to the anaesthetic and never wakes up. Once the surgery is done, so long as you give your rabbit its painkillers on time and make sure it doesn't strain itself, it should be fine.

I understand that it's a "specialized" vet but I don't even get how they can charge 200, it's a pair of tesiticals they can't be that much different then any other pair. But I really recommend doing research before even getting a rabbit cause that 60% reproductive cancer is real it's what took my bunny. I'm sure if you went to a rabbit rescue they rabbit would already be spayed or neutered.

Definitely another great reason to adopt; that's one thing I didn't have to worry about with Luna! You are so right about the networking part too; the people at Friends of Rabbits (where I adopted Luna) have been incredibly supportive throughout the duration of her health issues.

i would love to tell you that you have educated me so much in the bunny world. i actually started watching before i adopted my bunny, (which i was going to get one from the pet store before i watched your channel) but instead i looked into adopting one. but i feel very confident that i’m a good rabbit mom and now i have my second bunny, waiting to bond them because i’m waiting until i spay and neuter them. but i just wanted to let you know that mostly everything i’ve done with my first rabbit came from your videos and he is a very sweet bunny and he is also free roam and litter box trained. i’m very happy i found your channel

Yo, this was a really nice surprising upload. I’ve been meaning to get mine fixed for a few months now. But yeah, all those things have delayed the process. Like what the cost would be and trying to find one that’s done enough bunny surgeries. 😅😅 so this was really nice to see, thank you so much!!

Thank you so much for making videos like these. I started watching right before getting the bunny I was going to show for FFA (not to sell, just to show). If I hadn't of stumbled across your channel, Rosie would be outside in a hutch eating nothing but pellets. (The breeder told me specifically that hay was unnecessary and greens were unhealthy. Not the best breeder to say the least... He also sold her to me at only 4 weeks, which is another horrible thing) Now, Rosie's spoiled rotten, eats a very healthy diet (perhaps with the exception of I give her a few too many treats), and lives indoors (free roaming is a WIP, but it'll definitely happen soon).

Me and my friend saw your Easter bunny video and so we emailed our class about it and everyone was talking about how they think it’s horrible and how they will spread the word and our friend even said that she will make a KZbin video talking about how you shouldn’t support it. It’s amazing how far a KZbin video can go.

Im so glad we got our bunny neutered. He was fine when we first got him but very suddenly he turned very aggressive, biting people and trying to hump anyone he could! Thank god we dont have another rabbit that would have had to endure that. After he got neutered it was a miracle how quickly he stopped being so aggressive. Thank you for this video, even if your bunny isnt as aggressive as mine was its still very important to get them spayed/neutered!

Yes!! Spaying and Neutering is wonderful! Unfortunately I got my boy Thumper when he was 6 (he's almost 8 now), so he will never be neutered due to old age and the health risks that come with fixing old buns :p

my first bunny-a rescue female velvetine rex, who was in the shelter for 14 months from the age of about 1 yr- immediately developed mastitis , but thanks to her young age was an excellent candidate for spaying, which ended the mastitis. she went on to enjoy many years as a free range house bunny. Lenin reminds me so much of my little sweetie Velvet . Bless these adorable souls.

I am so nervous for this, my rabbits are ny life and I just keep thinking "what if they don't wake up 😔" I don't think I'd be able to deal with it if they died during surgery. I don't know many people where I'm from that has dpayed their rabbits and I don't know if actually any of the vets are experienced enough to work with rabbits. So This is gonna be a a stressfull procedure but as soon as this Corona virus has passed I'm going to take a risk but until then I am going to do more research on where the best vets in my area are

My bunny got spayed yesterday. For some reason, she is actually really active. And I feel bad because all she wants is me in the pen with her which is cute but I also want to give her alone time. She is pooping A LOT and she is eating sand she doesn't mind her medicine, which is good. I also go to a rabbit savvy vet which is good. Thanks for all the help!

This video brought back memories when I got my two done. My male bounced back so fast, but my female it took so long. She got really unwell with it, she wouldn’t eat or drink. We was back at the vets everyday with for 3/4 days. I had to syringe feed her every hour, I slept at the bottom of her pen at night and set alarms just to check on her and sort her out. I thought the worst, constantly crying thinking she wouldn’t make it. But now nearly two years on she’s as happy as ever and bonded with her brother. I would 100% recommend spay and neutering, but would definitely do loads of research and make sure you get the right vets. My vets are absolutely amazing and they constantly reassured me that she will be fine, they looked after her so well and got her in to be seen straight away

Is it necessary to get a rabbit sprayed or neutered
@ciaobella473 жыл бұрын
@@anishkaphukan8030 "There are many benefits to spaying or neutering a rabbit. First and foremost, a fixed rabbit can live a longer, healthier life as the risk of cancer and urinary tract infections are greatly reduced. Second, a rabbit that is spayed/neutered becomes calmer and easier to manage. Their destructive habits subside a bit,yet they don’t lose their charmingly mischievous nature. Altered rabbits are also easier to litter train and have less of an urge to spray. Spayed and neutered house rabbits are easier to bond because of their calmer demeanor. And of course, an altered couple will not end up with a litter of baby buns. While baby bunnies are adorable, there is an issue with overpopulation. Most rabbit shelters are consistently full." I just got my 5 year old Netherland dwarf male neutered and it went perfect! I followed your after care video and it helped a lot! I made sure to give him access to hay, pellets, his favorite veggies, and treats by putting them in his carrier. I bought a collapsible play pen for him and I had him recover in there for a few days, BUT he absolutely hated being in there so much he started to chew a hole in the play pen! So I ditched the play pen and let him free roam like usual and he was a lot happier but still a little annoyed by everything being different from what he was used to. (As he was exploring the room he was thumping to express his annoyance lol) His litter box habits are getting better, im seeing less and less territorial poops around so I truly think the surgery was worth it! I got it done at my local shelter’s spay and neuter clinic. Luckily, I also work at my animal shelter so I was able to talk to our vet personally before I scheduled the surgery to rule out any of my concerns of him being too old or too small for surgery. (He’s 2 pounds)
