@TheTacoBoy0015 жыл бұрын
deadcorpsedead Agreed with your assessment. Lewis was 38 if memory serves and on the decline, fighting on short notice when he faced Vitali. Lewis was losing on the cards and appeared to be fading rapidly no doubt. However, it is possible to win by KO despite losing on the cards (Louis vs Conn, Foreman vs Moorer). Vitali had one hell of a granite chin, but Lewis’ blows did seem to hurt him even despite the nasty cuts they caused. It’s unclear how many more Vitali could’ve taken without going down or being stopped on his feet.

Lennox is one of the few boxers that was both boxer and puncher. A so called hybrid. These guys can outbox punchers and outpunch boxers. Another example of a hybrid was the Rooney trained Mike Tyson.
@TainoMantis4 жыл бұрын
Agree with you 100% on Lewis. But Mike Tyson wasn't a boxer-puncher. Mike Tyson was a pressure inside-fighter - an elite level one in the early - mid 1980's. Lewis was tall & lanky with power. Mike Tyson was 5'10", had explosive footwork, hands, power and great weave-slip-head movement with Rooney. When you look at Tyson, you have to stylistically compare him to fighters like Joe Frazier, Floyd Patterson, Rocky Marciano, and Jack Dempsey.
