Great video this topic, the best I've seen on YT. After building up my new RUGER PC chassis carbine with internal and external upgrades just for the purpose of making it a better carbine I now realize it is actually ready for competition. Me? Not so much - but I'm doing it anyway. Gotta start somewhere.

the fm9 safety can be ambi, but the ruger is only right side, so thats an issue for lefties, and the ruger has a non adjustable trigger and no threads on the barrel for a comp.

@@RangerCaptain11A The newer, current production Ruger PC actually does have a threaded muzzle. I think it's 1/2×28, If I'm not mistaken, which would make it compatible with standard AR 9mm muzzle devices.

I have shot both guns and this is by far better than the Ruger PC 9 carbine it recoils less is much much easier and faster to reload the platform is more ergonomic and there’s not that much difference in price.

QUESTION: can you use a M1 Carbine in a PCC match?

Under current equipment rules the PCC division is open to any carbine firing a pistol caliber cartridge (9 mm, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, 10 mm and .45 ACP). The maximum velocity allowed is 1600 fps (presumably to prevent steel target damage) and all scoring is in Minor Caliber (125 Power Factor). Guns must have a shoulder stock attached (the SIG Brace and variants are not legal). Short Barreled Rifles (SBR) are allowed and all barrels may incorporate compensators, flash hiders, and muzzle brakes. Optical sights including lasers and flashlights are allowed, and there is no restriction upon magazine capacity.

@@calidreamscollective What does that mean? Do people have fin grips and remove them before the course of fire and put them back on before they leave the area and pack up for the day?

@@ericj6636 Exactly. When we travel to and from to the range we are compliant to the max. Once we get to the match we can take the grips off and run the guns normally. I personally run comps and fixed stocks anyway so the fin is an easy on and off as opposed to a fixed mag option.

@@calidreamscollective I was gonna do a Resurgent Arms featureless grip, you know the one that looks like a sweet potato?

@@ericj6636 Those put a weird kink in your hand from the angle of the grip. If you can find one get an Exile Machine grip... The fin comes off so easily paired with a Magpul grip and is honestly the best option I think is available. Other than that get the Strike Industries Megafin since that has the normal pistol grip feel with a thumb rest to easily manipulate the gun.

Ar15 with a 9mm conversion, theres your issue... and this guy is supposed to be a Proffesional. Build a PCC dedicated too the caliber... not a conversion...

My old rifle is a custom built 9mm not a conversion... It was a simple miss communication that obviously someone was going to hear on this video and write about negatively. Apologize for the confusion and hope to shoot against you sometime!!
