The only time I ever use A/C in my car is if the temperature is above 90F and I'm going to be on the road for at least an hour. People have completely forgotten the simple joy of driving with the windows down, arm out the window with a nice breeze blowing through the car. I happen to live for that! :)

The vintage Cadillacs, Pre 80’s, still outclasses this new Escalade. Cadillacs used to have an identity and character to them, but now they are just a shared GM platform now more so than ever before. I miss the “Cadillac float” riding smoothness of the 60’s and 70’s Sedan Devilles and Fleetwoods. Gone is the soft floaty ride of the old school Caddy tanks of the past. Plus the new Cads have areas of the interior where it has cheap feeling plastics, the seats are rock hard and thinly padded, the seats are nowhere near as comfy as the old Cadillac cushy living room seats from the 1930’s-1970’s Cads. I’ve owned multiple vintage Cadillacs from the good ole days, and currently own a '54 Fleetwood 60 Special and a '64 Sedan Deville. Both cars are beautiful, extremely well built and solid, super comfortable to drive, with tons of interior room. Modern luxury cars look very modest sitting next to my Cads, and have no real presence like the Classics do. Especially the '54 Fleetwood which has the most interior space of any vintage Cadillac I have ever owned. The '54 is tank in wheels, very solid and it does remind me of driving a modern day crossover just like that '41 Cad because of the height of the roof and seats as you sit more upright vs the low-slung late 50’s-60’s Cadillacs. 1956 was the last year of the taller Cadillacs with the massive frames. Starting in 1957 they switched to the X-frame which lowered the cars body and gave them the long, low, sleeker look. Problem is, they are difficult to get in and out of depending on the years because of how low they were. Anyway I love the comparison between the 2 different Caddy’s. IMO the '41 oozes class, luxury, quality, and elegance, while the Escalade oozes a more Brutish kind of colder styling that doesn’t really look luxurious at all to me.

There are 2 'V's under the headlights of the '41. What did the V mean? Was is because Cadillac had V16 engines?

I'd rather have a brand new Fleetwood Brougham from the late 90s. Where the Escalade certainly looks big and badazs, the Fleetwood Brougham looked more elegant and classy, rather than just "big". (My contrarian view!)
@FYMASMD Жыл бұрын
I agree with Jay. The twenties and thirties Cadillacs were beautiful. 1941 not so. My oldest brother has a 1949 sedanette. Fully restored and wow is it a fun car. Highway speeds are no problem. We did some suspension and electrical mods but just for ease of use. We put a couple thousand miles a year on it. It is truly a milestone car. I don’t consider that truck a Cadillac at all. Really the brand died after 1974 for me.

I remember seeing US surveillance camera footage of a happy little boy running across a supermarket parking lot to his mom's car. He steps in front of an SUV pulling out, the bumper smacks him in the head and runs him over. The mom screams and sprints forward. The flattened boy is small enough to not get smooshed, all four wheels miss him. The mom hugs the boy with the booboo on his noggin. The SUV driver never knew the family drama happening in his rear view mirror. My point is that these road cork SUV's that abuse legislature meant for commercial vehicles must be named and shamed. Listen between the lines, Jay and Donald both know, but they can't anger the bow tie. If this Escalade has sensors to stop it from splatting little kids, then it's like those black n white movie early airoplane attempts, like the bicycle with the humping cloth screw shaped parachute, or the car with the flapping wings. The SUV is comedy gold for future generations. This Escalade is like you get on a V8 scissor lift, extend it and shout how you are the best car of all times. It is a wayward car for uninformed people.

After copying so many european cars , now Cadillac uses for its front, the back of the new Range Rover. American design has a few moments of genius , but it is dreadful compared to european and asian elegance, harmony and creativity. American cars are frequently like american remakes of europe films.... dreadful. PS: and every design nowadays has to include ideas for the mitomaniac public : stealth, intelligence or deep state like vehicule, military .... an apealing visual culture of menace projecting and fear creating that alpha dogs that can buy , or beta dogs that can lease a Cadillac.

The Escalade V is hopefully the swan song of obscene consumption, gas guzzling ,horsepower excess.
@jbllc6873 Жыл бұрын
It may be gargantuan. But the Escalade, or any other domestic vehicle is still trash relative to build quality reliability and resale value of Japanese and even Korean brands. And that’s since the 90’s. Don’t see why anyone would buy from the big three.
@Charlesb88 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think I’d agree that Cadillac is trash vs Toyota, Honda, Kia, or Hyundai. Arguments can be made that those Japanese and Korean brands make better SUV’s vs the Escalade but that doesn’t make Cadillacs trash. You’re also forgetting that the name Cadillac and the fact that it’s an American brand means something to the “Buy American” crowd.

Shame on you, you used to be authentic. I understand money is helpful but this is obviously a paid promotion and to have an intro like that is shameful. Neither of these two have any legitimate praise for the Escalade V and there is zero commonality. Blocking your channel and again, shame on you.

Hello! This is not a paid promotion. Both of these cars are part of the Audrain Collections. Donald saw connections between the two, and we chose to highlight them in this video. Thanks for the feedback!
