Thanks for the quick and easy overview. Made me feel a lot more confident with my purchase and also pointed out the more USB ports on the side that I didn't notice. Was slightly worried about the very few ports on the back since one has to be used for the mouse dongle as well as lack of somewhere to plug in a headset. Which was now covered by the ports on the side.

Thanks! I got a 27 inch with the i5 and 8gb of ram for $1,000 and I think that’s a great deal for what it is. It’s very hard to find a 27” touch screen! Also, another killer feature is that you can use it as a monitor for another computer...or TV inputs if you wish! It has HMDI IN which I have never seen on a all one one, especially one that looks like it could be easily use a just a monitor to another gaming PC. Thanks for watching, RA. 10 min max should be fine, are you doing 1080 or 4k? If 4K you'll need a slightly better graphics card. That said I think the AIO platform is great and you can find units that have higher end GeForce or AMD graphics cards.

Love your review, thanks a million! Although I had checked this out since buying it (10 days ago), I learnt a few things from you today. One question though, right out of the box, it gave problems. Stalling and prolonged thinking. This happens when opening an external storage drive (usb), transferring files, and when using simple graphics, such as the stock photo programme, and editing on Filmora. I thought this machine was able to handle simple editing programmes. Strange that it would stall on its own factory programmes. Is it possible that I got a defective one (Thanksgiving sale), or is the machine not able to handle such simple tasks? I am trying to decide if to exchange it for another one, get more storage (but storage shouldn't affect the processing power, should it?), or just get a different computer. Suggestions?
@ComputerStuff3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Enna. yes it sounds like you received a defective unit, maybe one with a bad drive? These are normally good computers so my recommendation would be to exchange it first - see if the second one behaves better - and if its still giving you a headache try something new. But no, these problems you describe are not normal!

Hi. Thanks for you review. I get a (quite admittedly) fan noise from the base station. is this normal? (I have the 8GB RAM 1TB with 128 SDD version) - I just don't want to be hard done by! I have another laptop that just has a SDD and it makes no noise. Thank again
@ComputerStuff4 жыл бұрын
Fan noise is a hard thing to diagnose remotely because noise is subjective, but yes a whsiper at the base is normal. If its ramping up or getting much louder than that it could be overheating.
@dtthorpe013 жыл бұрын
Have you noticed any fan noise issues, and is there any ability to control fan speed? Have had trouble with some Ideacentre all-in-ones in the past (520 and 720) with fans frequently ramping up extremely high and loud even under low loads and temperatures (seems to be tied to CPU utilization and not temperature, so any spike in CPU usage will max out the fans even if only for 10 seconds, very annoying). Unfortunately those older models seems to have no way to control fans (nothing in bios, and I couldn't get any SpeedFan type software working, lots of complaints in Lenovo forums about these problems). I'm hoping these newer computer have less of these issues (especially if many internals are in the base) but no one addresses this online, hoping you have some insight.

I bought this machine and from the very beginning it was freezing. I've called Lenovo support many times, but they cannot figure out what is wrong with it. it freezes once a day almost every day. Even with the extended service, i cannot get Lenovo to send a tech over to look at it. My recommendation is if you have issues with it, return it right away before is too late. I work for a non-profit that wouldn't give me equipment to work from home so i spent over 1k on this baby only to have issues daily. I was very excited about it when i purchased. i am disappointed Lenovo support has not been able to help. other than logging in remotely to run some tests and create a new ticket, nothing else is being done. I don't know if i should take it to a private party for repair even though I purchased a 3-year plan with them :(

Hi, may i check is this a glossy type or Anti-glare (matte) type screen? Thanks
@ComputerStuff4 жыл бұрын
The only ones we've seen, sold, and reviewed have been matte screens. They do well in sunlight.

I have one of those how do you control the volume in tv mode I have my sky q box plugged in and can’t seem to turn the volume up or down?
@ComputerStuff4 жыл бұрын
So far as I know the Lenovo doesn't have IR built in so your volume control would be from your Sky Q Box. If you have a wireless keyboard you could control the volume with that.
@georgerobertson74674 жыл бұрын
I’ve tried that no joy even when I plug my PS3 in you just can’t control the volume in tv mode but thanks anyway I still love the Lenovo A540

Hey @Al Bes, yes if you're referring to the capture card you can run the HDMI, USB-C one. You wouldn't be able to use the PCI-Express units.

@@ComputerStuff resolution, brightness, refresh rate, how fast does it take to start, hearing to the sound of the fans, also the video will look much better with it turned on, at least show on its screen the specs while you talk its satisfying to watch a pc turn on and working
@ComputerStuff3 жыл бұрын
@@Hisham_HMA The reason why I don't often turn it on, is because resolution, brightness, refresh rate, fan noise, are all things that you can not get an appreciable or tangible concept of via an online video. That said, I agree with you on boot speed and satisfaction of seeing it on and working. I'll take your advice and turn the machines on in future videos. Thank you for watching and your feedback.
