Picked one up yesterday. Was $100 off at Best Buy and I had a $50 gift card. So, not bad for $600 plus tax. Loving it! Won't be bored at family holidays anymore. Will pick up a steam deck next year if I see them on sale.

No need for a steam deck if you have the legion go

I had mine for about a year, the best thing about the stand is you can stand it up in portrait mode without the controllers installed.

I got one for Christmas and after a new 2tb ssd install and huge debloat session, this thing is amazing. Also I am impressed w how snappy windows runs. I’m looking forward to a lego 2

They really ticked the boxes with this premium device, including having a case. But then you realize you can’t put the charger in the case, and it’s downright baffling. I just imagine Lenovo corp office when they are showing off the product internally, and they’ve got 100k cases made and ready to ship, and someone says, where do you put the charger? lol

Isn’t it the same with the steam deck?

Or like any other handheld pc

If what we've been hearing about the specs are right, it might be the big-name device to beat this year.

I got LEG TOO😅❤
@FennecTECHАй бұрын
If your controllers keep drifting on the switch (the thumb sticks go wonky) thats a known issue with switch controllers. Call Nintendo. They will replace it. The controllers on the legion go are Hall effect and thus immune to drift by design

i regret buying the steam deck tbh. i always mod games and use cheats/trainers. these dont work on linux, and i got the steam deck base model which has emmc. running windows on emmc is out of the question. i dont want to spend more money fixing the steam deck either. I will just wait for legion go with oled or something

Weight for legion go seems to be a big issue, but I bought a Gibitlee controller connector so I'll be able to take off the controller to use it.
@chemicalburrito7822 ай бұрын
I don't personally have much problem with the weight so far, but that controller connector does look interesting for "desktop" play when you're not wanting to use FPS mode. Gonna have to get one of those and try it out!
@PanRhei3 ай бұрын
Haha, another one! The weight is what scared me off from even considering one.
@chemicalburrito7823 ай бұрын
I put down the weight as a "con" because a lot of people are sensitive to the weight of a handheld - and the Legion Go is no lightweight! But I've been using the Legion Go the same way as i use my other PC devices with it resting partially on my legs and so the weight isn't a problem for me personally. Definitely not a system you want to lay in bed and play with it held over your head, though!
@PanRhei3 ай бұрын
@@chemicalburrito782 Well the Deck ended up being painful for me mostly thanks to the weight (partly due to some ergonomic choices), so heavier than that was out of the question. I did try alternative positions like you mention, but I found that just shifted the soreness elsewhere, like my neck. I preordered an Odin 2 Portal, hoping it will function as a decent middle ground between power and size.
@chemicalburrito7823 ай бұрын
@@PanRhei Of the mainstream PC devices, I think the original ROG Ally models (with the smaller batteries) are the lightest - something like 45g lighter than the Steam Deck and more than 200g lighter than the Legion Go. But if the Deck was giving you problems, I'm not sure I'd recommend any of them, since they're more alike in terms of weight than they are different. The Anbernic WIN600 is quite light for a PC handheld at only 510g. Only drawback of that is ... at the end of the day it's still a WIN600!

Since you have other handhelds, what are the fan noise comparisons like? Does this device make more noise? Also, I notice the cable is connected to the bottom of the device in this video. Can it also be connected to the top?
@chemicalburrito7822 ай бұрын
I'll see if I can do a fan noise comparison between these devices. I do think the fan gets pretty loud when the device is set to the (max) 30W mode and plugged in - but I use the regular performance mode pretty much all of the time when gaming and it's a good bit quieter on that mode. You can charge/connect the Legion Go with either of the two USB-C ports. You'll definitely want to use the top port if you're plugging it in when using the kickstand.

performance wise what do like steam deck or legion go
@jonathont55702 ай бұрын
I have both, I don't play new AAA games but I do play lots of indie... Go for me was for anti cheat games, but Deck for everything else. Windows just makes this a mess compared to the deck console experience.
@horticultural2612 ай бұрын
@ did you try steam big picture mode on the legion go
@jonathont55702 ай бұрын
@@horticultural261 Yea, but windows is just so big and bloated and takes space and its just like maintaining a laptop since Lenovo center is not nearly as good as steams.
@chemicalburrito7822 ай бұрын
Didn't see this until just now, but the Z1 Extreme in the Legion Go punches a bit harder than the Deck's APU. 60FPS stable in Borderlands 3 vs 45-50 on the Deck.
