Excellent video. I might add that the object used to pry open the laptop is just a guitar pick. I purchased an 8GB Patriot Viper DDR4 PC4-21300 2666MHz memory card and had it installed as fast as the video - thanks to the perfection of the video. The hardest part was unscrewing some of the screws. This is not rocket science for anyone. I'm a 61 year old gal and did it without problems. My Lenovo Ideapad 330 works a lot better with the additional memory!

Here I'm gonna answer all users' most common questions related to this Laptop so I hope that helps you guys. *Does this Laptop support adding extra RAM?* Yes, It does but it's either gonna be 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB. *What is the most recommended extra RAM size for this Laptop?* It's either a 4GB RAM with a pass of 2133GHz to activate Dual Channel mode for an extra 30% in performance or 8GB RAM with a pass of 2133/2400GHz but this time, you won't have Dual Channel since it requires the RAM to be of the same size and the same pass. *Will adding another RAM into the laptop improve the overall performance?* Yes, it does. Internal GPU of the Laptop does consume at least 2GB of your total RAM size and after adding another RAM, it might consume till around 3.5GB and leave you with a free 5GB in average which is a major upgrade than the previous free 2GB. Still, playig a game as an example doesn't let the internal GPU consume RAM which means that you can use almost all your RAM size when playing a game or something. *Can I add an SSD into this Laptop?* Yes, you can and it's preferable to be a hybrid mode by removing your DVD ROM and buying a Caddy where you put your old 1TB HDD and insert the new SSD into the old HDD spot and as for why It's because your main HDD slot supports 6GB/s which boosts and improve the capabilities of your SSD while your DVD slot supports 3GB/s which limit the performance of SSD but doesn't affect the performance of HDD at all. *What is the recommended size and brand of the SSD?* It's preferable to be a normal (not M2) Samsung 860EVO with a size of 240GB to be used as a boot partition and use your old 1TB HDD as the normal partition for Games, Movies, Work, and stuff. *Will adding SSD boost the overall performance?* INSANELY!!! You'll no longer meet lags or slowdowns on the system and everything will take seconds to start instead of long times of waiting, windows take around 10:15 seconds to boot up and be ready to open everything, huge performance and fast loading times for games, programs such as MS Office, Photoshop, and more, open in seconds rather than a whole minute, so it's completely worth it. *What about Drivers and their updates?* pcsupport.lenovo.com/eg/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/300-series/330-15ikb-type-81de/81de/downloads/automatic-driver-update Just enter the link above and allow the site to update your system automatically so that you don't suffer any problems with any apps later, it's easy as that. *Any other things you recommend us to get?* I'd say you could buy a Cooling Pad (a fan) for your laptop to reduce it's heat when it's using the external GPU when running intensive apps such as AAA games and stuff, and I also recommend buying a "Type-C Male to USB 3.0 Female" to your Laptop to be able to use that Type-C slot that you won't use most of the time, an extra USB is a QoL upgrade.

@Mark J A caddy is a replacement to the DVD bay that you just removed from the laptop, it's usually made from metal but some do sell a cheaper types in plastic but I went with the metal one to be safer since who knows if that plastic was cheap enough that it would melt if the laptop overheat causing the HDD to explode or something, it's not safe. If you meant the original place where your HDD was in before installing anything or the DVD bay itself, both are made with metal, the laptop ain't that cheap.

@Mark J It doesn't have 2 batteries and the current battery which is in the laptop isn't removable but that isn't a problem because once the laptop is fully charged in, it has some system inside which prevent it from charging till it reach 90% or something so don't worry.

But a DVD bay is a DVD bay regardless of the system of the laptop you're inserting this thing in, right?

@@KZbinGoogle1 I bought a 4GB RAM with a pass of 2133 (same as the RAM inside) and connected it into the laptop and was able to activate Dual Channel which boosts RAM performance by 30% than a regular RAM of the same size. Also, I connected Samsung 860 EVO with the size of 240GB in it as well which boosted the Laptop performance insanely and I no longer have freezes or lags with the system whenever I open any program and system boot time is 10 seconds if that satisfies you as well and I'm still keeping my 1TB HDD since I'm having both hard drives in the same time (Hybrid). I cannot even run Internet Explorer with one tab open and File Explorer with one window open. This PC was 100,000 Yen (one thousand US dollars) and it's like something from the 1980s. I was glad to read your post... but I should not have to spend extra money to make a terrible PC into a normal PC. Thanks again.

thanks for the video. sadly even though I have just put in another 8 gig or RAM so it now has 12 gig, it is still a very, very, very slow computer to boot up. once booted though it runs about 10 programs without too much trouble, but launching each one takes a very, very long time. now have a boot time of... about 4 minutes. 4 minutes to boot a pc with 12 gig of RAM. shame on you Lenovo. a thousand dollars and this is what I get. still, thanks for the useful video.

If you are familiar with the PC in question, you will know that it draws a lot of system memory for shared graphics memory, leaving Windows too little to run even two simple programs smoothly.

Yes usually ideapad 330 have only 1 empty RAM slot. the default RAM is RAM chip solder on to the motherboard so cannot take out.

It has to do with how the Laptop is set to use power. You can change it give power to the USB ports while its in sleep.Go to power and aditional power settings and make your custom settings.

in terms of performance if you want speed you simply just need to change to SSD. Dual channel lost to me is not a big deal but ya another 4GB and a SSD would make the laptop in good speed.
