Hey man, doing this same upgrade on my M57, I’ve put in 8gb of 667mhz RAM 2x2x2x2 and after doing so, my gpu fan spins to max speed and then shuts off, it then starts again which I would believe would run infinitely. There is no display either, did you need to update your BIOS in order for your RAM to work?
@HaisteComputerRepair Жыл бұрын
I don't think a BIOS update is needed, but I could be wrong. Put your original RAM in and try updating it. Outside of that, try testing your RAM sticks one by one to see if there is one that is no good. And then so on for 2 sticks, 3 sticks, 4 sticks etc. Boot into BIOS each time and check System Summary to make sure each stick is being registered. Definitely look for a better video card than what I installed (it's terrible outside of just offering another display option)

First, find a Solid State Drive at least 128GB in capacity. More if you need more space as there is only an option to install one SSD. No dual drive feature unless you remove the CD/DVD optical drive and use the connections for a SSD/HDD. Then, upgrade the RAM to a 4 x 2GB DDR2 configuration equaling 8GB RAM. If you can find a good 1GB low profile graphics card that would be nice. Like a GT 210, something inexpensive but offer a small boost and more display options.
