Wow the price is good. I bought a Lenovo Flex 5 CB for around the house. It's similar, but an i3 and more consumer focused (Top firing speakers, less ports, less cost). If I was using Chrome OS for work I'd want the Think Pad version.

Hello mate, you have the wrong information, the Ryzen 3 CPU / C13 Chromebook SSD upgrade is not possible due to soldered to the motherboard only Ryzen 5 CPU or above have this option.

It's kind of shame they put a 15W processor with a fan into it, even though it's not even much faster than the 6W equivalents. Also, lack of PgUp/PgDown and Home/End is kind of downer, does Google not allow the Home/End keys at all?

My W530 is still working hard for my brother during his architecture masters, i7 32GB up-gradable ram, I bought it with a i5, 16GB for my electrical engineering masters, later on upgraded to i7 32GB. It really isn't just a Lenovo issue it's wide spread, the fact that you no longer own the product and that they are not made to be upgraded by the user has been going on for the better part of this decade 2015-2016 was really the year where phones started shipping without swapable battery for "slick design" and that carried on to ultra books, notebooks... now even full fledged desktops. It's really a question of selling more, since now companies can slowly and surely degrade the RAM and other components to slower modelues and claim "25% faster then previous gen" when all you're left with is the last batch of computers and phones that have soldered on ram, and they had slowly switched from 3200Mhz to 800mhz modules. Honestly it used to be that $700-$1700 got you a fairly good computer that would last a couple of years, now days $700 is barely good enough to "light web browsing". Either we're facing a a global economic crisis real soon or companies are fucking with us making huge profits of the lack of value in products.

I think a lot of of went through that transition since they came out but then you see how useful they can be for a lot of users, especially non tech nerds (although I'm a tech nerd and I have a Lenovo Duet because I think it is cool abd was cheap). My mother and other seniors I have known really love these and as the guy that suffered years of supporting aging Windows desktops being used by inexperienced users in my family, I was so happy when they switched to Chromebooks.

Got one second-hand from eBay recently with a Ryzen 5 3500c, one thing that I notice is that when bench-marking this runs a lot faster when plugged in than when unplugged, as reflected in Geekbench, Speedometer, and 3dMark Slingshot scores. Still a perfectly fine experience doing Chromebook things but might matter for someone who really need the performance.

@@youtubeitisisntit7333 If you can get a good deal on it, yes. I got mine for $220-- an "open box" unit with Ryzen 5, 8gb ram and 128 gb SSD. It's got better CPU/RAM/SSD than most Chromebooks at that price range, and a better keyboard and screen, too.

This Chromebook I suspect has a bad emulator or it needs an update from Lenovo. This unit does not run apps from play-store very well. most crash, or lockup or never load. the ones that do, do not run very well. I had a n23 yoga and it ran every app well. I could even play COD mobile. This unit got my account banned from PubG and was stated in message box that my emulator needs to be updated. I tested this by watching a 4k Aquaman movie trailer on KZbin through the browser and it played flawlessly with no freezing. I watched same trailer on HBO Max app and it just kept freezing every few seconds. I continued this test using Netflix app and got the same result. I love this unit but for the price I paid $749, should run any app from play-store with no problems and the the quality of playback should be much better. This item will be returned as I wait for the ASUS CX5.

Hmmmm....i was interested on this Chromebook, actual i use the Lenovo Duet 128 GB. But when watching this video i see they still have the Widevine L3 issue with the software. For me that is an absolute dealbreaker ! So i still have to carry my heavy notebook when travelling as soon i want to watch Netflix, Amazon etc. Too bad, i love the Thinkpad Style and i love AMD units, but so i have to wait till i can buy my next Chromebook.

Chrome os was originally advertised as a low power low cost option if you just need something that could do basic computing.

I have never used chrome os but isn't it supposed to be made more light weight so it can run of them without feeling sluggish? Edit: I have a tablet with 2gb ram and it is borderline unusable with win10 it will loose power while being plugged in if I use the regular version of word not the win10 version
