UPDATE: In August 2024 the replacement board died as well! What a turd! I recommend to avoid the E15 lineup all together.

I had a great deal on a broken E15G2 with a year of warranty left. I got the motherboard replaced for free and they told me they would replace the motherboard as many times as required as long as it is still under warranty. Turns out the first owner took 4 year on-site warranty... They hadn't called Lenovo because the screen is heavily scratched and feared they would deny the motherboard replacement. The technician who came to fix it told me that as long as I don't claim screen issues, warranty repairs are granted. That's good to know !

Did a dead CMOS battery actually make the laptop fail to turn on, in the first place?

No, I don't think so. With the old board the charging light wasn't even on when plugged in and the power button didn't do anything. Also, I found out those E15s have lots of problems like that.

@@MacintoshMenHey is there a good switch for a motherboard without a usbc port? I heard they normally go bad after a while

@@benjamingiosis4880 Nope you can replace the PD usb C Chip and resolder the Mosfet that gettin switched by the IC. But its a super difficult soldering job because the Chip ist extremly small but has huge heat sink capacity .. check for TPS65993AD
