Perfect video, not only shows how to do, but gives a lot of tips on the traps of doing it. Keep it up!

Hey bro i was looking at this video to try and get a part number for the thunderbolt 4 port closer to the hinge. Mine has gone bad and my understanding is lenovo only gives you the mobo part number. Would you have any advice for me on how to get a part number for something like that beyond opening it up myself? There do seem to be some numbers etched onto them but not enough for me to be confident I'm buying the right thing If i ever break the screen i'll be sure to come back to this Thanks,
@ItsBinhRepaired2 ай бұрын
@ericm4658 pretty sure it's soldered to the logicboard. You'll need to be able to micro solder to remove and replace it. I don't know where you can get a matching port.
@ericm46582 ай бұрын
@@ItsBinhRepaired Yeah looks like i have to clean it all up. Reapply fresh solder. Then heat it up and smash the port into it... How i source the port tho is unclear Thanks again

My x1 wont turn on. Tried on 2 differnt lenovo battery cable but the battery light was not even lit. How to know if it is just a dead battery needs to be replaced ir if it is some other issues? By the way, where is yr repair shop at?
@ItsBinhRepaired2 ай бұрын
My shop is in the bay area. If the charge light isn't on, it's either the charger, charge port, outlet, or motherboard.

Sometimes a bios reset can fix it if it's a temporary short it detected.

Hi all - I've been watching repair videos hoping to gain some insight into a particular issue. I'm looking to get either a Yoga 7 or Ideapad 5 2-in-1 and want to replace the stock IPS panel (~65% sRGB) with a wider-gamut one (at least 100% sRGB). I've tracked down some adequate IPS alternatives, but I'm unsure about compatibility. I've heard of some panels being incompatible beyond just not using the same eDP connectors (ie loss of brightness control, sometimes just flat-out no display); is this a common issue nowadays? (I could also purchase an OEM OLED assembly from Lenovo, but just that costs as much as the computer itself, and it would make more sense to just get an HP Envy X360 instead, even if I'd really rather have a Lenovo.) Assuming a replacement is okay, the stock IPS panel seems to be mated to a custom-shaped glass digitizer screen with a raised section on top to cover the camera module. The IPS alternatives obviously will come with just the IPS panel itself. Is it possible to non-destructively remove the old screen from that glass so I can swap in the new, better one? Also, would using a higher-resolution screen affect the performance of said digitizer? Many thanks for any insight.
