I love the innovation, but this feels like a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist. I love that it’s out there, but I cannot imagine the person who needs this. That said, I hope they sell enough to keep innovating.
@toploz_jr55974 жыл бұрын
well honestly i can see myself using it a lot, it has the screen of a normal laptop and the size of half of it. It is touch and can be used as a fullsize pc or as an half sized one when you don't have wnough space to operate. Solves the problem of the hinge by putting the keyboard between the screens and has a fast processor inside unlike tablet. The only concern i have is durability and heat.
@trollwarlord29674 жыл бұрын
considering only people in the west can afford it i highly doubt this will go anywhere like the galaxy fold
@ignaciobenjamindebortoli78194 жыл бұрын
This was probably the thinking when touch-screen phones were released, but what's not taken into account in that line of thinking is the new previously unthought possibilities of the thing, how they'd change our customs while using a PC. Surely they might be to imagine, but surely there will be amazing ones.
@malfaro3l4 жыл бұрын
troll warlord I think that’s about right, but they have to know that. The expected low demand is exactly why the price is so high. I just hope they don’t have a real flop here because it’s not just the price that scares buyers, those folding hinge mechanisms always look too delicate to use in real life.
@trollwarlord29674 жыл бұрын
@@malfaro3l no company expects low sales otherwise they will go bankrupt. And this product will definitely have a really low selling point unless they pull an apple and increase price further

@movax20h4 жыл бұрын
Really bold move. I am not sure, who exactly will benefit from this design tho. Maybe if the unfolded screen was really massive, that would be interesting for reading papers, doing art work, etc. making it basically same size as medium size laptop, that just folds for portability is IMHO a meh idea. Also, what about Linux support? Do you provide drivers for touch and stylus? Do you have some integration with Ubuntu to show on-screen keyboard, or response to docking a keyboard, etc?

Genius! Obviously since the screen cannot fold flat - there's a gap. And right here is a GREAT example how to make use of that gap and make it look slick! Ooooh, I soo want one! Form factor is perfect for carrying in panniers on a biketouring trip... yeah it's kind of expensive... buuuut... with it's power and it's desktop OS and physical keyboard I could easily do my regular work like that too. Wow. digital nomad life! given 5G modem or just sharing mobile internet i can easily imagine myself seating in a hammock, by a lake, somehwere in the middle of nowhere (with at least decent coverage!) answering emails & coding stuff!

Why not just have phone tech in the tablet/laptop that I can call with from my earbud? Why not make my earbud the place where the microsim card is, and when it pairs with a device that can make calls.... it authenticates and makes /receives calls. ... a calling device like a car, a tablet, a speaker, a ..... public payphone masquerading as an information kiosk.... If we separate the telephone function from the 'phone" and embed that function into other objects that can be paired with .... all we need is an earbud with a sim..... or maybe just a sim in a credit card size carrier....always on.
