The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is a very interesting tablet. We get a very large 13-inch display, a unique design with an integrated kickstand, as well as an HDMI port. You can use this tablet as an external monitor which is super exciting. Due to its Snapdragon 870 it is very powerful as well, has four great speakers, and supports an active stylus.

Added note, If you can't get the pen, or lose it, the Microsoft surface pro pens work on this tablet. I have surface pens for my windows tablets, so I only need one pen for use on both.

The Lenovo website has updated their Android Upgrade Matrix to include the Yoga Tab 13. It will be updated to Android 12 in due course. This is the detail: Model: Yoga Tab 13 (TB-K606F), Android OS at time of launch: Android 11, Upgrade plan available: Android 12, Release date: 2022/1/31, Upgrade plans: Ongoing.

I have an old yoga tab i bought refurbished in 2014. It's still going strong and the battery still lasts days. Because it doesn't get updates and the hardware is pretty old now, its gotten slower. So i started looking for a new yoga tab as a replacement. One of my main requirements were 3.5mm jack and expandable storage. Unfortunately neither of these are offered in this new version. That sucks because i really enjoy my old yoga tab and wanted to keep it in the family. Looks like I'll have to expand my horizons to other brands.

Not a bad tablet. Looks really sound, I like how they made the charging port separate from the HDMI cause even though HDMIS and the charging ports are the same ports on some devices you can't use it and charge your device at the same time, so that's a big game chnager right there

reminds me of the early half of the last decade when there were so many more OEMs making smart devices and trying out different designs, i think this yoga tab design even originated from this time, and lenovo has surprisingly carried over this industrial design to 2021. man i miss the days when more OEMs were competing in the smartphone and tablet space.

I love the screen size, but I am not sure about the tablet itself. I have owned the Lenovo Yoga tablets in the past and while the sound was incredible, they were all so slow at start-up and most apps took longer than any Samsung to load up! And, the updates were few and far between. Price will be a consideration for me too. I think I will check out as many reviews as I can find on this before I make a decision. Thanks again for the terrific review. You state the good, bad, and ugly without getting carried away. Frankly, you are my #1 reviewer for all tablets. :)

Good points, if you can wait, then that's a huge plus. I bit the bullet and got mine now. I have an old Samsung 10.1 note and liked the usefulness of a stylus (safely DOCKED INSIDE THE TABLET!) And Samsung is great with additions with their powerful software, but my notes on that tablet are locked onto that device with no easy way out for use on other non Samsung devices (android or Windows). I won't let Samsung lock me into their apps again. Maybe they've gotten better since then, but I doubt it. I'll be happy to be proven wrong. One huge advantage with the last few Lenovo android tablets is that somehow they got the Microsoft surface pens to ALSO work on these tablets. That adds to the universal usefulness of a stylus. But I also got the Lenovo Duet and it's "universal" USI pen, but I cracked the screen and have no other device that uses a USI stylus. Maybe Lenovo learned that USI isn't the future, I dunno. But being able to use my pens on multiple devices is a huge plus. I've tried having 2 tablets on a music stand with each their own pen and it gets hugely confusing and frustrating.

Finally got the stylus. It ALSO works on the Microsoft surface pro. And the surface pro stylus works on this, but the Microsoft stylus doesn't line up directly with the line being drawn under the tip. Luckily the Lenovo stylus works JUST as well on both the this yoga and the Microsoft surface pro. So if I only could take one to use on both, I would take the Lenovo precision pen 2

Great review. But has anyone ever actually gotten the HDMI out from the USB C to work? A couple of reviewers mention it works but none demonstrate it and I've tried with a couple of different adapters that should work, but they do not. If someone has gotten it to work, can you list the exact adapter you used? TIA.

Their other style of kick stand is much better as it hangs without having to with about centering the chunky stand. The ability to stand anywhere, even on a windowsill and hang easily, is what keeps me going back to Lenovo. I know no other tablet that can do that.

I would maybe redo your battery tests as comparing an iPad Pro 12.9 with 1200 nits max brightness to the Lenovo Tab Pro 13 at 400 nits is not a scientific fair test? When I saw your SoT I was surprised as I easily get 11-12 hr SoT streaming YT videos on my iPad Pro 12.9 M1!

If this thing ever comes down to the mid $500 range, I might consider it. The Lenovo Flex 5 Chrome tablet is priced better, imo. I would probably look for the chrome tablet to go on sale instead. However, I am a content consumer, not creator. So screen size is more important to me than the number of tabs I can have open at the same time! :)

For an Android tablet to have HDMI IN support, that is a interesting proposition. But at $680, I can get myself a UPERFECT X 13.3" lapdock for $250 in my country and spend the spare on a secondhand flagship Samsung or Huawei or Motorola that supports DeX or EMUI Desktop or Ready For.

In 2022 I never dreamed a flagship tablet (besides an iPad...) would ship without a fricking micro sd card slot. WTF. 128gb isn't worth **** anymore. Immediately returned mine because it has less storage than my $100 entry level phone... and my $75 fire HD10 is a more useful product.

The big issue with the HDMI input is that it does not work with touch and pen. So it's a nice option but could have been so much better...

​ @Digitalguy thanks for the tip on superdisplay. it's , uh, SUPER! one problem is it only allows one external screen. But I used 2 extra screens by using one tablet using superdisplay and the other using (you guessed it) the lenovo tab 13 with it's hdmi input. so my windows surface pro had 2 extra screens. as you say, the touch ability using superdisplay is great. even over wifi as I am using it. Now as for touch and pen over hdmi, is there any hdmi that allows touch and/or pen? normally an extra usb connection is needed.

Pass, Lenovo borked this with no 3.5mm jack and especially a SD slot for people to that have mass media already downloaded. Build should be metal to help dispersed the heat of that 870 which should do GameCube emulation great or atleast ditch the felt back. Planning on getting the other Lenovo with the 870 called the Xaixin or something, with the SD slot and metal build. No video in tho.

I bought one. You are correct bout 3.5 jack and SD reader. So sad,....BUT, trying not to be a fanboy, the USB 3 speed of storage is an advantage to being able to quickly get large chunks of data (films) on and off the device. It forces people with large libraries of films to actually plan a bit ahead as to what you might need for a trip and get those films on the device (and move less important movies off to make room). I would have preferred the 256 gig option, but it wasn't available to me. Drag. I'm sort of ok with the fuzzy back coating, but are you sure about your idea that the 870 needs help with cooling? From what I've read it's a pretty decent balanced CPU, especially after the hot 888. So far I am not noticing the device get warm at all, even during some transcoding of films. The 870 seems like, a sweet spot for power and heat. The guy who promotes the xioxin (techtablets) seems to like this 870 a lot and praises its ability to control heat. I was on the fence about the xioxin vs this, but the kickstand/handle and the HDMI input won me over. If you can use the HDMI in, it's a big plus like he said in his balanced review. I would add that being able to hook the handle around my wrist to transport this tablet is a huge plus. Your hands can be full with other stuff and you are not trying to put the tablet under your arm. So even though I am not hanging this on a wall, the ability to use it as a handle is really cool and useful. I'm finding many uses for this handle each day. It's a game changer, even more so than its seemingly more elegant predecessor with it's tiny hole for hanging. My 9.6 inch iPad without a handle feels more and more awkward and un handy. Good luck with your decision. The xioxin is pretty cool, and powerful and would be a nice buy, too.
