The weight is actually a good thing, and necessary for cases like this. Otherwise the rather expensive iPad would make it prone for tipping over, so the keyboard has to be heavy enough to keep it safely upright in laptop position.

I think the Apple Smart Keyboard represents the optimal ratio of portability and usability. I have a form-fitting Tomtoc case for mine, and it's very light with Smart KB, pencil, MX Anywhere 2 mouse, Baseus USB-C dock and small PD charger.

I had a similar case like this before. The hinge will wear out and loosen over time, to the point it won’t be able to hold the iPad upright and steady anymore...

@@Conor.Mcnuggets Not that I know of. And I didn’t even bother looking. The keyboard or the cushion will hit the iPad screen and damage it anyway, so the best alternative I’ve come up so far is to find a case with cover, and get a separate bluetooth keyboard in case I need to type something…

It's a good case/keyboard, however, very heavy and thick for an iPad, just like having a notebook. If you can deal with the weight it's a very nice product. The really only "mistake" with the device is not using the same connector type for charging it as your iPad.

I thought the hole was for the Apple Pencil but it is a real snug fit, so I have been hesitant to push the pencil all the way into the case.

Hey Dower, Was wondering if this case allows me to use the back camera of the ipad tilted (so the screen of the ipad would be relatively close to the keyboard keys). My concern is that the case wont stay open if I have the screen so close to the keyboard. I appreciate the response in advance

Oh, and if it DOES stay open, have you noticed a decrease in resistance over time? Or is it the same since when you bought it

The weight of the iPad at that extreme angle will cause the case to close... My only suggestion is to find something to act as a brace if you require the case to be at such a close angle.

Sadly, no. The keyboard uses micro USB for charging.

I would imagine it would to some extent. It's still just a plastic shell, so if enough force were applied you may still have problems... Although, I've never bent an iPad before.

Yes it does. The only issue I had with it was that it gets a lot of fingerprints stains on the top of it because it is more of a rubber. I send it back and got the Brydge, but if they just fix that issue and make more of a premium feel it will be a great buy

Dower Chin lets ‘I will put it this way.... the more I have use it, the more satisfied I have become, because I understand the purpose of the Brydge, which is to preserve the design of the Ipad and give it a laptop feel and man! It sure does. As I am writting to you I am presented with an offer from apple to purchase the mac 13 with wait for it.... a free set of beats headphone and because I got the Brydge keyboard I don,t have the need to purchase it (just to give you an idea of how ideal it is to have the Bryde, but you know I cannot pass up on that deal jeje). Now that beta IOS 13 is available (soon complete version) with mouse capability it just took the Ipad pro to anaother level. I got the logitech m570 trackball and i have no need for the touch pad, it’s the perfect combination.....

I haven't used the case in a while, since I ended up giving my iPad to a family member. My main issue with the case ended up being the overall weight it added, so I ended up using the my Inateck case with a detachable keyboard.

Does the screen wobble when typing? Or when tapping the screen

It depends on where you are using it. Tapping the screen can cause some wobble, especially tapping near the top, since that is the furthest from the pivot point. There isn't too much side to side, but that could be more pronounced if you are on an unstable surface, like your lap. But it won't be as bad as the F17/IVSO one I reviewed.
