Thanks for making this video. All the other reviews I've seen for these lenses do a terrible job of actually giving a demo of the lens and take forever to do so. This is straight to the point and super informative. Showing the result from the 0.35x & 0.43x using the same composition is super helpful.

Thanks for the useful info! Picked up myself a 0.45 and 0.35 adapter, I feel the 0.45 just gives a little bit less distortion and chromatic aberration than a 0.43 would. Very useful for cropped sensor cameras, I got G7 and picked up a 25mm lens which on a 2x cropped sensor is more like a true 50mm. The 0.45 adapter helps make it feel more like a true ~25mm lens (closer to 22mm). I must say: buyer beware, in my experience using a lens adapter on a prime lens with a wide open aperture (1.8 or lower) gives an even narrower depth of field which makes focusing on the desired subject a bit harder. The 0.35 I bought just for fun, loving the fisheye but chromatic aberration is very clear. However, it does make a pretty decent wide angle macro lens on my 25mm! Top notch video, I'll make sure to stop by the store if I visit Miami!

Very informative for beginner and intermediates. I've been shooting now for about 3 years and have just started to work with lens adapters. Fortunately for me, all 3 of my lenses have the same 52mm diameter.

just a quick opinion, I don't get the point of having the wide angle lens adapter when some will have to crop in to get rid of the vignetting caused, because if zoomed in/cropped in then the angle of viewing comes to the same as you would get from the normal lens itself. However for creative purposes I think I can use the lenses vignetting to my advantage and create something different.

Hi, there is some vignetting but it certainly helps to achieve a wide angle shot which would not be possible without spending at least 10x times more on a real lens.

2 Quick questions: it seems to me that You use the Autofocus function while taking the picture with the 0.43 converter. So, does this mean: 1.Autofocus should be turned off only while screwing the converters ? 2.after screw the converter to the lens is Autofocus possible without doing damage to the mechanism ? Hi there! As you can see in the video, the Autofocus was turned off (4:05). Autofocus is not available when using these extenders since the lens will attempt to autofocus at all times and you have the risk of damaging the lens mechanisms.

Thanks for the comparison. The telephoto one looks like it's sharp at the center only plus the chromatic aberration is noticeable.

I have a Vivitar 55mm 0.43x Wide Angle with attached macro. My question is there an attachment ring of some kind that would allow me to use the wide angle lens without the macro attached so that I would be a true wide angle view. The wide angle needs some type of an adapter. Fyi, I have Nikon d3500. The lens is a 18 to 55mm that I am using. Thanks

Hello, BN Pray. These lenses can be mounted on prime lenses too. Compatibility is based on filter thread size and partially by the lens's field of view. Since kit lenses typically offer a wide field of view you will need to keep the zoom from around 24mm-55mm to not get a vignette. Thanks for watching!

Sir, I feel this is a cool alternative to spending huge money on different lenses especially for beginners like myself who are still trying to figure out what style of photography suits the most. However, I have a query regarding these adapters. Do they affect the F stop of our lenses? Like I have a 35mm F 1:1.8 NIKKOR lens, can it still go upto f / 1.8 with any of these attachments on ?

Hi, I recently just ordered a Sigma 16mm f/1.4 E-mount from you guys and I looking for a more wide view. The thread matches the 67MM 0.43x. The question is, will it show that inner circle or vignetting since it’s a prime lens. Also, will the adapter damage the lens while it’s on autofocus? Thanks

Hi Timmy, unfortunately, some vignetting might appear as the 0.43x lens is mostly made for zoom lenses, it can be used on wide angle lenses too but some vignetting might appear. The lens is compatible with AF and nothing will happen to the threads of the lens.
