Aunt Flo,i soak my lentils 1 hour before cooking and it's done in 30 minutes. I learned the trick here in Caribbean. P.S i love ur cooking

Awww, yes it soaks so fast. Ahh, I can't really say what some of these meals taste like. Foreigners describe the taste of our meals better than I do because I am so used to the taste.

I substitute the cubes with leftover chicken or vegetable stock. Those cubes contain a lot of MSG. Many people like myself experience severe migraines when food is prepared with this ingredient.

They will take longer to cook, and taste a bit different.

Esombi I wouldn't add carrots and green pepper to beans (black eyed or brown beans) but you can try it and see if you like it.
