They were looking for whom/what to sacrifice for 2 years which means they began searching from 1995. Now, Vikram movie held in 2022 in which Rolex says it took him 27 years, which is from 1995. It might be a coincidence, but what I think is that magician (Josiyakarar or whomever) first itself told that they want to sacrifice a descendant of Das family to Harold Das. Therefore he sent Rolex out of the factory in 1995. Then it took him 2 years to keep Rolex out of his brother's (Antony Das) sight. That brings us to the year 1997, as Harold ensures that his son (Rolex) is safe he tells what the magician told to his brother (Antony Das). And that is the reason why he also suggests to sacrifice Lea so that the next male descendant of Das family would be Rolex. As the sacrifice was not completed, Harold Das did not have the guts to bring his son (Rolex) back to factory so he left his son alone. And that is the reason why Rolex says that neither his grandfather nor his Father (Harold Das) give him anything. Hope it helps. Sorry if my English is bad. BOOM !!!JUST exceptional screenplay with lots of subtext & layers. LEO is a misunderstood brilliant movie. BELIEVE me it's LOKI's best movie yet.movie didn't worked much becus it did't try to spoon feed the audienes much in my opinion.
