I can easily understand that the film is adapted from a hollywood film called history of violence diected by david cronenberg back in 2005. Excited to see the lokesh kanagaraj's adaptation!!

One thing i clearly get it , the hyna scene is gonna be in the starting of the film cuz vijay fight with hyna saves somebody creates news across the country, that's how sanjay dutt and gang found about vijay's location. Regarding the double act i highly think it is the Alter ego as lokesh already revealed to us in the 1st single music video poster. You can see the Alter ego comes to action 2:42 where he transform to his other form or past form.

This plot is same as History of violence, and there was also a rumour that they bought rights of History of violence but in lokesh style. Old vijay character in the movie is Leo Das, Leo is brother of Harold Das and the other Das character. Vijay character with beard called Parthi - running the sweet shop (Could be Parthiban) - looks like Leo , so they try to attack him for what - Leo did to them, maybe drug mafia stuff... Looks how the bearded vijay character avenge Leo's enemy and find who is Leo is the story plot for Leo movie. Sandy could be young age Arjun character... My hunch of the story from this trailer....

My theory is Actual Grey haired character is not only hiding his disguise from his family that he has settled into, but he may be having a secret about some shipment related to drugs or something and he wants to find that out from the gang he used to be in band with and he takes control over that shipment or something. I think it's a double act. At the beginning, Trisha addresses Vijay as parthi. In the middle of the conversation between Vijay and Trisha in the bedroom, he says people are chasing him since he looks like other Vijay (Leo). Towards the end vasudev Menon tells Vijay that Leo has to come back to life and confirm that parthi is not Leo. That shows the variation between parthi-the one with long hair and Leo with small hair. Leo might be the brother of Sanjay dutt and Arjun since they bear the name Das. It goes either way that Leo das had problems with Sanjay and Arjun and went missing and coming for parthi thinking it's Leo or Vijay himself has two sides. Let's see what the movie is all about.

it's not about the looks but if you compare it to the novel or movie it either should be the same person with an old life as per the Hollywood movie OR maybe Lokesh has his own story if a double role
